Well this has timed very nicely with my Leeds BS ISA maturing. All my other interest paying bank accounts are maxed out.0

So refreshing to have an instant access savings account again that actually pays interest
Cheers
It's not really 'refreshing'. There are loads of instant access accounts out there.
This one merely pays a little bit more interest than most.
But not a huge amount more than, say, Tesco Internet Saver, who regularly relaunch their introductory 12 month rate of about 1.36%. So this is a mere 0.14% more than you'd have been getting with Tesco for ages.
I've opened a Marcus account, but I'm not going to rave about it. It aint that special.0 -
I've read these responses with interest and can see 2 sides of the debate so far:
A) "This is great - finally an instant access that pays a decent rate""This isn't that great - it's been possible to get a similar rate with instant access for years"
Neither of the above cover my own reasons for opening the account; the only thing tying me to the bag of steaming proverbial that is TSB is the 1.5% I can get on the first £1,500. Marcus, dear new friend Marcus, is my escape. I can switch my current account to Halifax (way newer/better version of the same internet banking platform) and now get 1.5% on my emergency fund.

Also, finally an instant access account paying a good rate where Faster Payments actually arrive within 2 hours. Most will only process withdrawals overnight (or 5:30pm the next evening for Birmingham Midshires).0 -

I didn't but I guess it depends on what information they can get on you. I've never had to do this for online accounts.0 -
