  • I won't be spending money on junk but I do need to buy a new pair of shoes for work, I've left it as long as I can but the soles are literally falling off :o

I bought the shoes I needed and spent less on them than I normally would on work shoes... But ended up buying a pair of trainers and a new coat aswell! All stuff I needed though tbh, have to make sure I spend as little as poss for the rest of the week, actually make that the rest of the month!

hi raphael.. if i were you, i would get it fixed, you never know what could happen, and if the worse came to the worse, whats more important your life or saving a few quid......it should be such an easy job and very cheap....maybe just ask someone down your road if they could help fix it, just for a drink.....you never know ;)

agreed: and - i hate mentioning this but am trying to be realistic - IF you have a minor accident and the car is examined for insurance purposes, then this might cause problems with regards to a payout/claim. very unlikely i know, but a false economy me thinks: Get It Fixed :)

Sound advice, but it's not my belt, it's the front passenger and I very rarely have anyone in the front. My friend will not sit there (she has premonitions(sp) that have come true before, and has had one of her going thru the window!), my friends 2 kids I make sit in the back.
It's not an urgent problem so I'm umm-ing and ahh-ing over leaving it for a while, or spending now.

ha, raphael now i see ;).. i thought it was the drivers belt....but still worth looking at to fix it, you may forget about it one day in the future while carrying a passenger....but, i agree, its not as urgent as i 1st thought.....

I moved in march and moved to a different council,( i get I.B and D.L.A. I have schitzophrenia and severe clinical depression) I was getting full housing benefit and council tax. and when i moved into the flat i am in now this council told me at first i was on full benefits, then after about 3 months the housing association told me i was in debt with my rent. I phoned the housing benefit office and they told me i had to pay money towards rent and council tax, and wanted the money i owed them. So now i am having to pay the debt back to them for C TAX and to the housing !!! for rent. Then 2 months ago i got a bill from my old council saying i owe £1,700 rent and £470 council tax, i was living there 11 months. I sent them an offer of paying £5 a week off the debt and they said it wasnt enough. I went to M.I.N.D for help and they said leave it with them and they would sort it out, they didnt and the council went to court and got an order out aganst me, So i just couldnt cope anymore and took an overdose on 27th october. while i was in hospital someone from M.I.N.D came to see me and said they would help me again. Nobody got in touch and i cant get through to them on the phone. Now today i got a letter from a bailiff dated 25th october saying tey are coming to remove goods to pay the bill! I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO

  • £1.50 on butter, £1.05 on can of lager. I walked to work also which saved approx £3.00 on petrol (plus I will have thighs of steel!).
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time
