Iberia is an EU carrier so flights both from and to the EU count for EU261. Had it been a non-EU carrier then EU261 would not apply (which is why you were asked which airline)0 -
Your flight was only delayed by an hour. Th second flight wasn't delayed. I think you will be very lucky to get compensationweight loss target 23lbs/49lb0

Someone needs to read Vauban's guide...If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
The alleged Ringleader.........0 -
as m'learned colleague JP says, obtain Vauban's guide (google), make a big pot of tea and read it twice through. You will then have a good idea of where you stand. FWIW it would seem you have a case...0

Hi Algerino. As the others have said, Google Vauban's guide and have a good read through. We had an almost identical experience from Algiers to Heathrow via Barcelona on a flight booked with BA, with an Iberia flight number but operated by Vueling. We are being fobbed off with the airline claiming extraordinary circumstances and have had a third refusal from them.
So don't be put off. It may take time and effort but with the help from Vauban's guide and MSE regulars, I will take it all the way.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Hi Algerino. How did you get on? I have just handed our case over to the capable hands of Bott&Co as the airline repeatedly refused to take responsibility for our delay which was almost identical to yours. A one hour delay leading to a missed connection.
The solicitors have replied already telling us that we are entitled to €400 each and they will pursue the claim on our behalf. We will have to pay around £180 (per person) to them for the work they are doing but it's worth it to get 70% of the compensation rather than zero which is what we are looking at without their assistance.
Please avoid any of the other flight delay compensation companies who are totally unregulated and are doing little more than you can do by yourself with the help of Vauban's guide.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
