  • Morning lovelies
I think the rain has stopped for now, but everything is soaked through. I've also had the heating on this morning brrrrr !
I feel yucky this morning, my nose is running, I have a sore throat and my back is aching, so I hope I haven't caught the lurgy which everyone else around here seems to have. I am hoping that it is just the weather/ change of atmospherics.
The veggies are prepped and the oven is on. Hopefully Dad will turn up, as on the menu today is ( 'cos I'm sure you're all desperate to know :rotfl:) roast pork, roasties, honey roast carrots and parsnips, mixed veg and some stuffing balls I found lurking in the freezer. I shall have to sort out my freezers as I've lost the list that I did before my hols . Blummin useless I am in remembering anything lately :o (even the safe place I put said list ! ) and I need to use up the odds and ends so that I can make room for some Christmas goodies :j.
Mr Fix It has run the hoover through downstairs, so that's him done for the day :D. He's now xboxing, he says he needs the practice so as to play better with the DGS, who can run rings around him :rotfl:.
I think the Sandman is firmly ensconced in my wardrobe at present, because I am sleeping 12hrs a night . I shall try to tempt him out tonight to visit the sleepless amongst us.
Righty ho I must go and clear off the dining table, as it's full of baking stuff from yesterday :o and lay it ready for lunch.
Hugs to all those poorly or worried, especially the TA's. Take care everyone.
    nan xx

  • Hello all,

Just popping by to say that I am thinking of you all.

Sorry that not been posting but I had the diabetic eye screening the other week and it always takes days for my eyes to get back to normal.

Not much going on here, I have taken a breather from tidying the kitchen, and hubby has drawn the short straw and is scrubbing the loo with limescale remover!

Have a nice afternoon planned as my niece and partner are visiting my parents so we will pop over and spend time with them all.

Then it’ll be a quiet evening watching golf and crocheting a double bedspread ready for winter.

    Take care all.

Dumpling, have you got a pattern for the furry fairies? I know someone who'd love them [they'd have to knit them themselves though, I'm only good for square things...
    .

I got the pattern from the Alan Dart website

    It's a freebie :j.

TA, I am glad the hospice are looking after you and Mr TA so well. Sending you loads of hugs and well wishes xx
  • Thinking of you Mr & Mrs TA and family. It's good to read what a peaceful setting it is, with the care and support you all need.

I've just been for my Sunday stroll with a couple of friends, the sky was blue and the sun shone, but it is almost glove wearing time temperature wise. It was a beautiful autumn walk, with foliage beginning to turn colour, calm and and not a breath of wind after the wild weather earlier I the week. We walk for an hour and have about 6 local walks we do which all have a cafe at the end. The cuppa is one of my weekly treats, and the company's great.

This afternoon, I'm going to help with preps for a fundraiser for our local hospice, and will be thinking of the TAs of course.

Food wise, I need to use up the chicken liver saute from Friday, so I'll have that this evening. Soup for lunch. Sunday's a no housework day, just the minimum to get by - bed made, rubbish out.

I really need to get in gear with knitting, so that's the plan for the evening.

Wishing you the best day possible.
  • TA - so sorry to hear that Mr TA has had to go into a Hospice, but this one sounds an idyllic place with quality staff and care. You'll still be able to do as much as feel able to, but with the added benefit of 'Care Professionals' to shoulder the care aspect .................... you can concentrate on the job of supporting your OH emotionally. ((((HUGS)))) and prayers for you both.

TA (((HUGS))) hopefully Mr TA will be comfortable at the hospice. If it's anything like the one Ro was in; I'm told it was excellent.
Why is it I can't keep my eyes open at 9 - 10 pm but the minute my head hits the pillow I'm wide awake? Lay awake for hours with so many thoughts rushing around, usually things I can't change or do anything about.
I'm the same. Despite having started taking valerian again, I still like awake til gone 03:00 every damn night. All the fears and worries seem to come out to play at night.

Walkies next - at least it's dry this time, we got soggy this morning. :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
