Morning
I do love a Sunday I don't feel too guilty about a little lie in although the longest I can manage is 7am.
Had a fairly slothish day yesterday and now think I have seen every big bang theory ever made and then had a virtual cooking afternoon with Masterchef and Great British Menu catch ups. After all the michelin star type cooking I still opted for corned beef hash which was just lovely. Plenty left for today which for once I am not going to grump about.
One thing I did do yesterday was to book some stuff for when my pen friend and her pal come for a visit late Oct. Its starting to cost quite a bit now so really hoping she isn't here for a freebie but I don't think she is. Its going to be a full on week which is great but will need another holiday soon after. Next year I will be heading to Toronto to see her so need to make it memorable for her over here its quite hard to compete with what they have to offer.
So today I need to do some work for next week then its Sunday Brunch and more things I wont cookHash and beans for tea so life is good
AOD hope you feel better today those migraines sound nasty
Lainey Sorry to hear about your leak i always keep my fingers crossed that after months of no activity it starts uneventfully but my plumber friend is run off his feet at the moment withe everyone springing leaks. Lu will calm your stress Im sure
silver_oldie I have the same so I sympathise 4am to do lists are not what I want to do

Why is it I can't keep my eyes open at 9 - 10 pm but the minute my head hits the pillow I'm wide awake? Lay awake for hours with so many thoughts rushing around, usually things I can't change or do anything about.
I know that feeling only too well, I am exhausted, dozing on the settee, get into bed and I am wide awake, drives me nuts!!!
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especially the TA's and family who are going through such a bad time at present. I know the team at the hospice will keep Mr TA as pain free as possible but will also care for all of you as well, accept all the help they offer you.
Its a dull grey morning, I have lit the fire, it was 9c in the house this morning. The coal is going down slowly.
OH managed to wash and dress himself this morning. a big step forward, he is much more confident in the house, it remains to be seen how he is outside. He is going to the Evergreen meeting tomorrow, I will spend sometime in the town and then go back for him.
I have a load of whites in the washer, they are going in the dryer, when I went out for coal it was starting to rain.........although they forecast sun for us.. he ho.....
Chicken for supper, green beans carrots and cabbage, have some new potato's to use up. Raspberry jelly for dessert.0 -
DIY plans for today, did some porch stripping yesterday, took off some of the polystyrene tiles in the roof and took up the lino to find tiles stuck down under that. Watched Predator in the cinema, wore my face mask which made me look like a bank robber to avoid catching germs off anyone. Did get a few stares, so I stared back, then they looked a bit scared...
TA, glad to hear he and you are being well looked after. It's hard when you know it's going to happen, but it eases your mind a bit when there isn't any extra stress to cope with, you get a chance to spend time that's just being with them, and you know they're not in pain.
AOD - I get the same, not usually the headache but I do feel sick and everything is a bit bright afterwards. Last week I had them constantly for about 5 hours [normally they appear, get bigger, then disappear out of the edge of my vision after about 30 minutes], I was stumbling around half blind, couldn't read, couldn't watch anything, but it's just another side effect...I also get a big blank spot in one eye for a few minutes at a time, not in both, do you get anything like that?
Dumpling, have you got a pattern for the furry fairies? I know someone who'd love them [they'd have to knit them themselves though, I'm only good for square things...
Hope it's a good Sunday, whatever form it takes, for you all.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Just popping on to send gentle hugs and support to the TA family It sounds like a lovely place and I am glad that the whole family is being cared for and supported at this difficult time .Slava Ukraini0

TA, I'm glad you will have these memories without the worries of having to provide care for Mr TA, I hope all goes well.
AOD, my aura is a jagged flash which gradually expands to fill my whole vision. If I take tablets as soon as I notice the headache is usually fairly dull. Coincidentally, I had one on Friday, like you I don't have them often.
Welcome Primrose (I hope that's your name, my memory for names is rubbish).
We took our bikes on the train to Whitstable yesterday to ride the 28 miles back to the campsite in Ramsgate. The forecast said the rain would hold off until we got back, it lied. I was soaked, cold and miserable by the time we got back but pleased that the new gel cover I'd got for my saddle in Lidl had worked and my undercarriage was no very sore.
Today we will stay in the van and listen to the rain but tomorrow we do the last stretch of the coast we planned, walking from Faversham to Whitstable. We'll have covered about 60 miles, mostly in good, if windy weather. Next time we go from Dover to Eastbourne I think.0 -

Well, I think I have indulged myself long enough for one day! I listened to two podcasts - Saturday Live which was from the ‘Bloody Scotland’ crime writers festival and the other one from the Mark Billingham series. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. There’s lots of pleasure ahead.
The sun is shining bravely and there’s some expanse of blue sky, very chilly too. Today I’ll be prepping for the week, cooking some chicken thighs with chorizo and getting mentally prepared for The Bodyguard. I just hope I can stay awake all the way through it.
There could be some more bulb planting...there will be some reading and a little gentle walking.
Hugs all around.
Happy Sunday to all.
Edited to add...snoozer, all that’s very impressive and tiring. And sounds lovely.0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly hugs to all those in need especially the TAs.
We've had to moor illegally as it's the only place with enough water, we will move again tomorrow.
I'm going to do some investigation as I believe a company is drawing more water than they should. If I can find d out what is happening we maybe able to avoid the problem.
Have a good day everyone
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0
