Not sure if being funny or not. I'd hardly call the boots on either of those two options particularly roomy.

It's probably fair to consider that they offer more storage than the Fiesta of which the OP is replacing.

They are vast compared to the Fiesta! We live in a very busy area with awful street parking, so I don't want to have a huge car- don't really need a huge car either, just one with a bit more room inside.

Lots of food for though here, thanks for all the input.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
  • Both decent enough cars although the in manufacturers warranty car (providing it's been serviced to that schedule) would appeal more to me.

Go with the one that gives you the biggest grin and makes sense to you :D

I've currently got a Ceed and one of the reasons we chose it was the rear leg room.
It's not a particularly exciting car to drive, but it's proven to be reliable* over the last few years.

I'd say never underestimate the need for rear leg room if you're going to have anyone over the age of about 10 in the back for any distance ;)

*And if it's anything like as reliable as a neighbours Kia was (he had it for 13 years with no major issues), we'll be very happy.

We have a Cee'd, it has been mostly reliable but when it did go wrong it did it in a big way (total gearbox failure) and about 10 months out of the 7 years warranty. The cost of repair would have been more than the car was worth but Kia cover the whole cost of the new gearbox, we had to pay around £400 for some bits and pieces on top of that. The car had always been serviced by Kia.
Nothing to see here, move along.

    Do you make long journeys?

I ask as I recently had a Ceed as a hire car, and was really very impressed with it in general.

However after a 3 hour journey I was aching when I got out, so the seats aren't the best.

On short journeys around town it was fine.

And that is the thing with some cars, I do have a Golf and a guy at work has a Ceed, I must admit it looks nice, but not enough for me to consider one, the over engineered feel of some cars are what just enables them to lap up the miles effortlessly and for years to follow.

The VW, VAG cars will hold their value a lot more and far better build which means like for like will last longer, bare that in mind.

Was looking last month for another Golf, stupid prices, high mileage and old.

According to most surveys Kia comes way ahead of VW.
