Hey guys, I think some of you miss the point here. This is supposed to be a surprise so, I don't have to ask her. Otherwise, it's no longer a surprise.Anyway, thanks for suggesting beach celebration. I'd love that too. I just hope, my wife will like this two or three days vacation.0

Does your wife like major surprises like this?
My OH would end up going on his own if he arranged a major trip without any input from me.
Even if it was somewhere I'd always wanted to go, I'd want to be involved in the planning and to have time to sort out what clothes I'd like to take, etc.0 -

Where in your original post does it say it's supposed to be a surprise? What best gift should I get my wife for our upcoming 25th anniversary? I want to pay off all of her sacrifices during the 25 years of being my wife and a mother to our daughters. I can’t think of anything special to get her for. My eldest daughter suggested we should get her mother a new bag or shoes from a foreign brand. What I have in mind is a two to three days’ beach celebration. It’s more fun and memorable. What do you guys think?

The idea of popping off to Guam for "2 or 3 days beach celebration" is intriguing... :whistle:0 -

If you're not certain - don't do it!0 -
If some of us are missing the point here, it's because you didn't make the point.
Where in your original post does it say it's supposed to be a surprise?
That's right.
It doesn't.
+ 1 to this.

I'll put my hand up to needing to Google where Guam's located - hardly the place to pop for 2 or 3 days, for any reason. You'll spend almost as much time on the plane as you would on the beach!0 -

Well, that depends on where you are starting from. :beer:Not even wrong0 -
We did Vegas...bit far for three nights though.0

Well, that depends on where you are starting from. :beer:MoneySavingExpert.com is the UK's biggest consumer website, with about 15 million users a month.
So hardly a 2 to 3 day 'vacation' (which may also point to the OP not being from the UK).0 -
Don't buy her jewellery if that's what she would, like, unless she has chosen it herself. Men have little idea what women really like !
It's a shame your husband has so little idea of what you might like after 25 years. Mine bought me a beautiful silver bracelet. I wear it every day.
OP, we had five nights away in a luxurious B&B in Edinburgh, along with getting each other a silver piece of jewellery.0 -
:rotfl: So did I. My divorce papers to sign came on the day of what would have been our 25th anniversary
My ex wasn't being nasty though, it just happened like that.
It just happened that way with us too.
Had filed the petition 13 months earlier but got caught up in the backlogs after the reorganisation of from local courts to regional centres and every step took forever. The Decree Absolute happened to arrive exactly 7 days after the day that would have been our 25th anniversary, dated 1 day after
Actually after I posted 'I got a divorce' I was just waiting for someone to post "wasn't thinking of spending that much!" :rotfl:2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
