Help please.....Claim form received from court

Many apologies if there’s a thread where I can find this information but I have looked and can’t seem to find a thread that matches my circumstances.
I received a letter from PPS in Oct 2014 claiming I had overstayed in one of their car parks. The letter included a picture of the parking ticket and my car etc. As registered keeper, I had not parked in the space but another driver had (whilst I was at work)
At the time, advice found online was to ignore it and that they have no rights to provide a pcn etc.
BW legal have recently been emailing me constantly and again the research I did a few months ago seemed to suggest ignoring it. I was convinced it was a scam.
Unfortunately, today, I have received a claim form from County Court Business Centre.
Is there any point in trying to fight this? I will be doing the Ackowledgement of Service tonight. Is it worth contacting BW asking for any evidence they have in relation to this ticket?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

edit the above post to remove any hint of who did what , it was the DRIVER that did whatever on the day, the KEEPER is the person receiving all the paperwork since that day
no "ME , MYSELF & I"
SO just do the AOS and concentrate on your defence by reading recent court claim threads and doing the same, there have been a few today you can read (AND ALL WEEK), plus the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread post #2
the defence is legal arguments about why you are not liable in law, not about what happened on the day
you can SAR the claimant under the GDPR to get all their info, docs and evidence like pictures etc0 -

Apologies for the noob reply, this is all a bit daunting with threats of CCJs etc. A lot of the threads I have seen suggest making NO contact with any company etc. How do I go about requesting the SAR, should I just email BW Legal for this information? Thanks again, help is much appreciated.0 -
Hi Keith, Issue date is 14 Sep 2018.
With a Claim Issue Date of 14th September, you have until Wednesday 3rd October to do the Acknowledgement of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it. To do the AoS, follow the guidance offered in a Dropbox link from post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
Having done the AoS, you then have until 4pm on Wednesday 17th October 2018 to file your Defence.
That's almost four weeks away. Plenty of time to hone the Defence to perfection.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as described here:
1) Print your Defence.
2) Sign it and date it.
3) Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
4) Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
5) Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
6) Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defended". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
7) Wait for your Directions Questionnaire and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES thread to find out exactly what to do with it.0 -
Have you found the other PPS BW Legal claim threads, and are they any help?
EDIT - actually you've all been joined by a 5th person to compare notes with by pm:

Hi Keith, Issue date is 14 Sep 2018. If you mean the date of issue for the actual PCN then this was 04/10/2014. Thanks
Are you reading the other PPS/BW Legal threads and copying what they are doing (where relevant)?
We can't really do this ten times over for all the PPS defendants.

Do bookmark ALL of them - I've been giving all of the 'PPS defence group' all the usernames. I did tell all of you, swap pm's and look at each other's threads and defences, you can all support and help each other so we don't have to reply again and again on all ten or so threads (that are all the same!).
We will help of course but we hope you will all look at all ten or so threads first, regularly.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for all the help and advice so far, it’s been really helpful. I have looked through many threads and typed it in the bar at the top but can’t seem to find this bit of information........ I have filed the AoS and applied to BW legal for the usual evidence as detailed by the solicitor in the Newbies thread. I have emailed them twice now to request the salient information but have not received a reply at all. Since they are duty bound to provide me with the information, would that form my defence (given that I can’t file a defence for an occurrence I have no information about)? Many thanks in advance for your response(s) and again, apologies if there IS a thread for this. I must confess I’m not very tech savvy and it’s taking me ages to navigate this site to try and find what I need.0

click the drop down forum search box in forum tools and put the search words in, either in show threads mode and/or show posts mode
post #8 above also had 2 more links for you to read
so you have over half a dozen you can crib from
use a laptop for this, not a phone
the PPC had 30 days to reply to any SAR (its not been 30 days yet) , plus you would be reporting them to the ICO if they fail to provide the info you need
post your proposed defence below0
