We ere getting around 5Mbps from PlusNet and sometimes a tad more , though 5 was predicted and it was fine for streaming films via an Amazon stick.

However, since July we've had ongoing problems with drop outs and crawling speeds. Tech have been very good about showing me readings and calling me , BT we are getting nowhere as one will say a setting is wrong and change it,only for another to say the settings are wrong....

We seem to have anything that can be done by me (eg filter change, unplug the cordless phone ) or them (check line, alter settings) so I will have to risk an engineer visit (not happy about that, though as they could blame your system and charge even though it's their problem and our fault is intermittent so may not appear when they visit )

Make sure you ask the OR guy what the acual problem is . That may be of help if you get charged .
You could have rein or sunshine problems that are often imposible to find .

After a tech gave us an unasked for boost, near the end of the first 12 month our service was very good until July, though a tech looking back , said we'd had the problem a little longer than I'd realised.

It's not the filters, it's not the phone, wifi is fine (tv says so, but that the modem to internet link is lost), all plugs are firmly in place and it's not our equipment as tv and all computers are equally affected.Plusnet says it's very unlikely to be the modem.

They suggested other interference, but nothing has changed here and there is no close by industry. External wiring shows no damage so everyone is wondering what it could be, especially as it came on so suddenly.

Could it be weather related? Specifically does it happen after rain, in which case it could be water getting into a joint.
  • Someone from the Plusnet help team has offered to investigate any problems I may have so despite the negative feedback in Trustpilot I think I will stick with them
