Happy to give it a go. Going to take some to beat Aldi and Lidl though.0

I normally go for the cheapest item that suits my purpose, but I do like the idea of buying more British foods.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

An unsubstantiated assumption there, why would they be desperate post Brexit?
According to project fear we will all be starving with food rotting at the docks, so surely British suppliers should be coining it in post Brexit?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
If Jack's will be selling cheaper/discounted products why can't they just reduce the prices in Tesco? :think:Please put out food and water for the birds and hedgehogs0

A valid question. Some tesco bloke on tv yesterday claimed the idea was to differentiate the two stores. "This is a specific budget store for people who shop in budget stores", "tesco can be a big store for those who prefer choice". I can understand his logic, but I think it will inevitably eat into tesco's own market share.0 -
My friend's is a long-standing Tesco customer and has always bought their cheapest range of certain goods (Value?) - laundry detergent, other cleaning stuff etc., and was complaining she hasn't been able to find these products in her local Tesco, so she's switched to Lidl and said she wished she'd done it earlier. We now surmise that the missing items will show up in Jacks - but they've lost one customer that I know of who now won't set foot in their store.0

No mention of quality; we haven't got an Aldi anywhere near so I can't comment, but I find the quality in Lidl is generally pretty good, and Aldi and Lidl products often come highly rated in blind tasting tests. I bought some Rachel's organic Greek yogurt from Waitrose as we had run out of the Lidl one and it wasn't as nice for nearly double the price.0

I've shopped regularly in both Lidl and Aldi. More so in Aldi because I used to live near an Aldi. Then moved to a house right next to an Aldi.... then moved into my current house which has an Aldi on the drive to work
However, I've shopped many times in Lidl when I've been going past or whatever. The quality of Aldi and Lidl is very close but in general is very good considering the price point. There are individual products that I tend to prefer branded or from elsewhere, tea bags aren't much to shout for example, however the overall quality of these two stores make them a surefire for a good shopping experience.
Jacks has to live up to this and I think it will struggle, but I am open minded enough to give it a try.0 -
I was always loyal to tesco especially with online shopping when I had very small children.
Then I discovered aldi. I now do the vast majority through them although still need to a go to a big 4 for gluten free and lactose free products.
I can't see 1 jacks store making any sort of dent in the German supermarkets. Who do quality and good price! Apart from raspberries which always go off after a day from aldi! Lol0 -

I'm quite interested to hear what will happen with farming subsidies post-Brexit. The farming industry cannot survive without them.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
