I miss coming on here for just one day, and we're up to page 8, everyone's talking about things I don't know about (don't you just hate that??) and I've only got time to read today's thread...
I actually did a quick bit in the kitchen today, as I'm working tomorrow, and won't have time to do much. It was sunny here, and far too nice to stay in, so I had an hour or so weeding on the allotment. One more visit and my new strawberry bed will be ready to plant. Visited my mum this afternoon - she was quite chatty today, but not feeling very cheerful, and she doesn't usually do depressed and moany, although she'd be quite entitled to be grumpy all the time! I hope I managed to cheer her up a little bit, well, at least it was company for an hour or so.
juliejim - fantastic news, congratulations!
lil_me - very happy to hear good news of little Matthew.
Hugs to all the poorly ones, and welcome to all the newbies! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Feeling quite pleased with this so thought I'd share it. Here is my bonfire haiku complete with similes. Haikus are based on the following pattern of syllables: 5-7-5.
Bonfire
Glowing like the sun
Flames dance like rabbits hopping
Smoke curling upwards.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

Have introduce DH to quidco, so the sad git is sat playing bingo online and getting all excited when he has only got 3 numbers left:rotfl: . He is now shouting at the screen 'cos he only needed one number to win, he he he this is something I thought I would never see. Still now has £40 sitting in his quidco account:money: .
I have listed 2 items on ebay. Tomorrow I will sort through the Happyland stuff whilst littles are out. Cannot work out whether to sell as joblot or split into sets.0 -
Hi Shell,
The children in year 6 are the equivalent of the old year 4 (aged 10-11) - they are the last year group before secondary school.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Well done Juliejim! Good luck for tomorrow Miss sexymouse.
Welcome to the newbies this week and hugs for the poorly folks.
I managed the briefest flit round the livingroom today between getting in from work via Mr T's, 2 long phone calls and making tea which I've just finished. I haven't had time to make the place untidy so not having the time to clean kind of doesn't matter! I'm still having teleportation fantasies though if I'm not allowed more hours in the day.
Did some work based flying today if that counts? I drew the short straw to cover another department that's short staffed so I worked like a demon, cleaning as I went and moving stuff and batting my eyelids at anyone who popped in to take rubbish away with them. My mate told our elderly lab assistant I'd snog him for being our porter all day; He did but I didn't.. Got the place tidied until next Monday when I'll probably have to go in again though. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

There was I hoping for an early night but the washing machine has tripped the electrics (again) and I was washing DD only school uniform dress (yes, I know i've been meaning to her another) after the guinea pig had weed on it (I couldn't make this up!). Anyway, i'll now have to wait for the cycle to finish so I can put it on the radiator for the morning. Oh joy!
Not looking forward to tomorrow as it's my friend's funeral. I know we'll all get through it and i'll just remember the happy memories.
Now positive thinking - I can use this time before I can go to bed to make tomorrow's packed lunches and unload the dishwasher so there's less to do in the morning. Hugs to all and good luck with you day tomorrow sexy mouse xxJanuary budget
