My parents are looking for a new TV as their old boxone finally gave up the ghost after ten years. can anyone advise me if Sony TV's are good or the Samsung one's?
Also, is Curry's a good place to get it from?
Many thanks.

I would not go near Curry's/PC World.
Look at Richer Sounds they are now giving a six year warranty or John Lewis with a five year warranty.0 -
As above RS or JL.
What is the budget?
What size?
Be aware app's can over time stop working, Samsung and Panasonic seen to be the worst offenders for this, but it can / will affect all brands.0 -
Thanks for your replies. Our nearest Richer sounds is in Boscomb (Bournemouth) and John Lewis is in Southampton. They are both in their 70's and can't travel far. This has got me confused now.0

Ignore the tv's inbuilt smart functionality and just pop something like an Amazon firestick in. Definitely recommend Richer Sounds, I wouldn't buy a tv anywhere else.

Hi, both my parents would like to see them working in person. I might get my next TV from Richard sounds, but being disabled would they install it for me?0

Hi, both my parents would like to see them working in person.
So go to the local Curry's etc store, note model numbers (Curry's models are sometimes numbered / named slightly differently so they don't have to price match) and the order elsewhere.I might get my next TV from Richard sounds, but being disabled would they install it for me?
Don't know you could ask them?

I just hope they don't try and do a 'hard sell' on them. I would go with them, but am with search and ressue away team tommorrow in Birmingham.0

Curry's probably will, so they need to stand their ground. There are always other days.
See you have posted on AVF. So over to them over there.0
