  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Especially the TA's and Holly.

We have the wind blowing a hoolie here too, I went to peg laundry out and it blew the first two things straight off the line, so the dryer is being used.....extravagant I know. I did get the bed linen dry on the line yesterday. The sun is trying to shin, but not making a very good fist at it.

Chiropodist here this morning, as usual OH created, he moans and groans so much its embarrassing. In future I am going to sit in the kitchen whilst he has his feet done.

Cleaners here this afternoon, I am going to watch what they actually do, I have found bits that have obviously not been done properly including the kitchen floor, when I moved the table yesterday there was quite a lot of dust lying. I hoovered it up but will be having words about it. I also found the bottom trim on the bookcase had not been done, or the skirting boards. in the sitting room and bedroom.

Quiche and salad for supper tonight, with apple crumble for dessert.

Morning, still grey and drizzly here,a bit windy but nothing major.
Thanks for starting us off Holly, hope you enjoy your day out, good on you for keeping busy xx

Nelski- I've read a few Kate Atkinsons but mainly the Jackson Brodie detective ones :)
Cranky- nice news to cheer you up :j My niece is pregnant too,and has just found out she's having another boy.She sent me a text saying she's taking after me- mother of boys :D

Dh has just come back home looking for an old heater, apparently the decorator on the job is saying the room he's working in is too cold for his paint to dry! ( Not quite sure how he manages in winter, its very mild today) We looked in the loft, I hurriedly emptied a bedding box, wardrobe on the landing, nothing, so he went off again.1 minute later DS1 produced it from his bed drawer, rang him quick, luckily was stopped in the roadworks and came back.So now I think I'll be busy in our bedroom putting everything back in the bedding box etc.Took the opportunity in the loft to get out 2 lengths of fabric,I want to make a couple of tops.I've not done any sewing for months.
I want to check my freezer book to see what meat is left as the new butchers pack is being advertised on FB,he does a different one every Monday. It does seem to have quite a bit of chicken in,which DS2 doesn't eat,but the butcher lets you make up to 3 swaps :)

Well sitting at the keyboard won't get anything done so I'll send warm wishes to everyone here, especially those having difficulties xxx

Oh dear, after saying I'd try to visit/post a bit more regularly, i didn't get onto MSE at all yesterday. Again. So catching up today....

Holly As my SiL said when she was told she had the nasty C (lung, in her case) "Oh Bu88er!". You know what.... you could do worse than look to our own JackieO for inspiration. Hang in there mate, you can overcome this latest thing the Universe has thrown at you.

Posivibes for the TA s while I'm at it, too.
Chiropodist here this morning, as usual OH created, he moans and groans so much its embarrassing. In future I am going to sit in the kitchen whilst he has his feet done.
Oh joy, I have this to look forward to then, do I? Currently, Mr Wolf is flatly refusing to consider an actual chiropodist, I have to do his feet for him as best I can.

Bella anyone trolls you on here, I'll personally stick my Goblinkicker up their nether regions. I'm feeling that ornery today, I'd probably do it, too! :D

Mr Wolf asked me yesterday about inviting his pal over when Bessie (new-to-us guest) comes next week. I told him I wasn't really up for visitors right now, specially with a new, and therefore not familiar, guest. So guess what he's done today?...... GRRR:mad:
I mean, why ask if you're just going to ignore my reply?? *headdesk*

All change here this afternoon DD1 called and asked if we would take her work colleagues guide dog we always have her when her mum is on holibobs as she was rushed into hospital so tomorrow i will be foregoing my bottle of prosecco as i will need to come home rather than stay at mums . DS failed his motorbike theory so not in the best mood. Forgot to say though DD1 had Kass on her working harness as she had to walk through the shopping centre to get to the car park she said she did get some funny looks :D

  • Great to read and catch up with everybody else's goings-on for today :j.

Finally decided on using 'this empty day' to defrost the freezers (chest one in downstairs porch) and top half of F/F in kitchen ................... speeded it up by 'chiselling chunks of ice' off using a wooden spatula and a wooden steak mallet  :j.

I've got my eye on a 'hallway coat stand' in Ikea - so decided to shufty the freezer to make space for one !

Just had a phone call from DGS2 to say that he and DS2 are on their way round for a visit and :coffee: - so better the kettle on and find some biscuits :rotfl:!
  • Afternoon all and a belated "Hello" to the newbies :hello:
What a horrible day it has been, wet and very windy, feels like an overcoat colder here, than in Devon :(.
I have a stack of washing to do, but it's no good even trying to do it today, hopefully tomorrow will be better weather.
We went to town this morning to the bank, followed by Mat*lan for some new underwear for Mr Fix It :o and The Ga*e for an online Xbox pass. As Mr Fix It felt unwell in town, we went for a quiet sit down and a coffee, then later on the way home we called into Al*is for some fresh stuff, mainly fruit and veg, milk etc. as the fridge and fruit bowl were bare .
This afternoon I have sorted the washing into piles ready for tomorrow (fingers crossed) and tidied up some of the van stuff. My upstairs looks like a junk shop at present and I need Mr Fix Its' muscle to put some of the heavy stuff back in it's rightful place, but he's just not up to it today. Oh well perhaps it will get done tomorrow.
Tea tonight will be a breaded chicken steak with a small jacket potato and I will also have corn on the cob. There is ice cream for pudding as always, if wanted. We are back on the diet wagon......... again ! Too much "bad" food on holiday
Holly chin up lovely, you will get through this. You are one strong lady !
Dangers we were going from Exmouth to the M5 and all the access roads to the M5 were gridlocked. I still don't have any idea what caused it. The M5 was clear when we eventually reached it.
Bella please keep posting on here.
TA thinking of you both as always. xx
Apologies to all as I have forgotten who said what, my brain must be full of other stuff ....... probably nonsense :o.
Take care and hugs to all
    nan xx

Right I have had enough of this i will state on here I commented on thread no one liked what i had to say i was called a troll and so i came back today on the thread i feel comfortable on and it appears i am still being watched someone PMd me to tell me over a 8 days later i was still being dragged into something which i have not commented on in over 1 week this is todays post - To add insult to injury one of the trolls reappeared in another section of the forum yesterday giving a very different account of what they'd been up to and painted themselves very much as the victim.
I am not a victim but if you dont like what i say fine but dont carry it on and bring it up continuously pass over my posts and stop following me round the board. I am not sure if i will be posting as my families privacy comes first

I wouldn't worry about it. I've called someone out for unhelpful posting and bullying, it's the same one you're referring to, in a totally different thread.
    Stick them on ignore....
Point of this post - motorbike theory test - if he failed on the video part, it's a real !!!!!! to get that one spot on, because if you click too much too fast they fail that particular video. There a few sites that will let you practice that part, and also, I was told click with spaces in between, like a dash in morse code instead of a dot if you see what I mean, and do two or three so that one will definitely count and hopefully be within the time window....Did that make sense?
