    Good morning all,

Ooh, Bellabella I've always wanted to go to the Waldorf. Lucky you - I hope you enjoy it. Please report back in due course :D

I forgot to tell you all my other news yesterday. In May I will become a great aunty for the first time. My 25 year old niece is pregnant. My sister and I are very excited and a tiny bit of baby clothes shopping crept into my sister's long weekend here. JackieO if it's not too tedious to copy is there any way you could share your baby ball pattern with me please? I'm happy for you to have my email addy or my details to post it if needed and I'll pay postage.

We also bought an empty bottle garden bottle for my bestie who is developing an interest in terraria and claimed he needed one. He is time poor due to his job but he's a great listener and a fabulous friend so it was good to find him what he wanted and in a garden centre too so I didn't have to cart it for miles back to my car.

Today is fat class. I reckon I've put on about 3 lbs but whatever interesting virus the HT shared which stopped me from going running on Monday is gone so from Friday I will be running on a regular basis again. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. I can't go tomorrow as after 4 years of suffering on the only bed I could get delivered in time for visitors after a house move, my new (and hopefully comfy) bed is being delivered. Yay! Weight loss phase two here I come!

Love and hugs to everyone who is having a hard time. Don't be afraid to post even if you think you are only posting doom and gloom. A problem shared is a problem halved and all that. I had two miserable days last week but admitting how I felt to some of my mates and having a good chat with them about what was making me miserable (someone else's problem that my friends also know about but that none of us can fix) did us all good. It really is good to talk. I need to go and get dressed now - my hair still takes ages to do.

Take care all of you :)

    Good Morning :)

Feeling a bit shattered today after book club. Yes its possibly fair to say I had a drop more prosecco than was entirely wise :o but I also didnt sleep much. I'm really don't sleep well when I have guests staying which is OK for one night but I have a couple of visitors in Oct from Canada and thats over a week so hoping I can get over this.

Anyway we had a great catch up and our new book for me not to read this month is Transcription by Kate Atkinson :D Not sure Ill get round to it as still need to read last months also Im not massively enamoured by the description. Saying that its good to read something different so I shall see how I get on with the others first.

Holly enjoy your day out Ill speak to you laterx
JackiemumI bet Jack is loving every minute of freshers I can still remember mine and that has a good few centuries ago:)

Woke up early, no brain fog today, yippee.

Definitely going in the attic today, don't want a repeat of last winter where the water froze, blocked the pipe so the shower water had nowhere to run and I ended up trying to fix that problem while shivering naked in the bathroom because I'd already started my shower....I have tried fixing it once, and it did work for a while but I think it needs a new ballcock arm, so I'll just check for sure before I buy one.
Going to find the phone numer of someone to clean the gutters, I would do it, but no ladder long enough.
Made a crumble last night with the fruit that was going way too soft [peaches, cherries and a pear], it's not bad and I haven't just thrown the fruit it on the compost, yay.
Also need to unpick skirt back and re-sew, the pattern matching was ever so slightly off for about 4 inches, and now that I know what I'm doing with that, I have to re do - am taking sewing lessons from a lovely woman, she's really funny and bright, am learning stuff I didn't even know I didn't know, and learning better finishing techniques, so I'm not so point-and-shoot sewing anymore. She's very flexible with times and attendance so fits in well when I can't go..
Hope everyone has a good a day as possible :)

  • Good morning all

Thank you for starting us off Holly

Gentle hugs to all who want/ need them

Yesterday the weather was beautiful and sunny so we went out to have a coffee and people watch.

Today I have to use a £5 Argos voucher, or loose it, no idea what to get. Maybe buy online and collect another day, don't feel like going out.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.

Morning everyone and thanks for the start Holly, good to see you posting lovely x
Congratulations on the baby news Cranky.

It’s very windy here but mild, we had earmarked today for a beach visit and still intend to go, my DOH assures me that with the current wind direction we should be quite sheltered by the dunes, hmm we’ll see :D
I am going to make a packed lunch to take with us but if we stay late into the day we plan to get fish and chips from the shop in the village.

Sorry to hear about your friend TA, take care of yourself.
Have a good day folks x

morning all, bit grey, mild and very windy down here in Kent. Off to physio for second appointment for leg problem, seems to be doing the trick. Then off to Dover to national trust shop to pick up something to take to extended family, it will be blowy there on the White cliffs!

Hugs to Holly and the TA’s. I have a lot of admiration for the way you are handling the rotten time you are having.

Last classic car show along the seafront tonight so hope to see that tonight, I wouldn’t want to polish all th chrome on some of the American cars!

Hi everyone, tea and toast being consumed, hopefully I will have some get up and go soon. A quiet day doing some chores would have been nice, but need to get some cash and have a scheduled visit to Osteopath and then since it is in the general direction will go to see Mum, I have brought her a few things from holiday which I hope that she will like.

Holly thank you for starting us off, I hope that you find something nice to do today. My late dear friend who I thought of as "my mum in Dorset" used to say that you could get through anything as long as you kept busy doing something, no always easy, but I do try.

Hugs to all who are experiencing difficult times with ill health, loss, illness of loved ones, I am unable to do prayers these days, but send caring and positive thoughts.

Very windy here, need to find something to anchor my hair down when I go out, bit too warm for a beanie type hat, but I have a thing about my hair blowing in my eyes and face, really makes me ratty. My hairstyle probably doesn't help (chin length bob), but it suits me the best of the many styles that I have tried.

  • :hello: everybody - thank you to Hharvey for starting the thread off this morning. Love your positive and 'forward thinking' attitude - really hope you can think of somewhere different to take yourself off to for a day out :j!

((((BIG HUGS)))) and prayers for all who are poorly, caring for others or just need them for whatever reason :).

Yesterday's visit to the hospital wasn't as bad as expected - Consultant not unduly concerned about slow healing part of scar, so just a dry dressing and back to see him in 8days time :j.

Had a phone call from GP's surgery - while standing in queue at Costa - to remind me that it's time for my 'Annual Review' and they need me to have blood tests done before then ................ so that's Friday morning taken care of followed by next Monday afternoon :(! It was an annual review that lead to me being diagnosed as Coeliac18mths ago !

Need to do an online shop for A$DA in a few minutes - all the 'heavy stuff' to save me having to carry it ................ though doing THAT does make me feel a bit guilty and 'sorry for the delivery driver'.

Apart from getting that sorted - repeat scrip ordered - and a bit of paper work for church - I've no particular plans for the remainder of the day - will just see whatever it brings.

Hope everybody has a good MoneySaving Day :T.

Hugs and spoons to those in need.

Blowing a fair gale here atm. Mares whizzing around the field - they don't like it too windy but this will keep the flies away.
Recycling men have just been so I expect that will mean a major pickup as usual! I'm sure sometimes there is more on the road than goes into their lorry ( and they NEVER pick it up).

Need to pop to the library when it opens. Have talked myself into doing a Poems and Pinots fund raiser ( its a community run library) so better go and see what anthologies they have to augment my own. Will pick some of my favourites for this inaugural one. Want to do a War poetry one in November to commemorate the Centenary too so will have my work cut out.

    So long for now

Thanks for the thread Holly and hugs to all those in need.

Todays plans include bottling my elderberry cordial and picking some more hops.

    Have a good day everyone.
