ROP VANQUIS Refund

Hello
I have contacted Vanquis over my partners old credit card. He used to have ROP on this until I have cancelled it. So we know we are entitled to some refund back from Vanquis over ROP interest charged.
We have initally contacted Vanquis over this on February and then once again when we moved address in May. In May they told us it could take up to 180 days to get this money back. As we have no credit card with them anymore we understand we should have had a cheque.
Has anyone managed to get any money back from Vanquis??
I understand if you still had a card they would simply refund it to your card but in our case we keep waiting for this cheque and it has been more than 180 days.
We filled the form they now have on their website but again we havent heard back from them.
It has been more than 180 days, do you think that we should take this with the Ombudsman or should we wait a bit longer?

I hadn't heard anything from Vanquis about ROP refund so I emailed them and told me that yes I was due a refund and they would be in touch. I think they are struggling with the sheer volume of refunds that they have to process0

You can't take a case to the FOS unless you've made a formal complaint to Vanquis and 8 weeks have passed (or they issue a final response letter sooner). If you haven't already made a formal written complaint, then I would definitely do so - this may possibly get them to act sooner, but no guarantees.
Since they have acknowledged that you indeed due a refund (and you have that in writing) then it's probably just a matter of time, but you still might have to push for it - and any compensation you think you are eligible for.0 -

Thanks for the insight.
Yes I have several letters from them. I have been sending them since February. But they always reply with the same kind of answer. "thanks for this, if you are our customer we will refund the money to your card, if youre not, youre getting a cheque and can take up to 180 days"
But this has been the answer I keep getting always. Its a bit annoying considering if it was us owing them money they would be constantly harassing us and threatening us with all sorts of things.
The truth is that it has been more than 180 days on all the letters I have sent and I really feel like its pointless keeping asking for it. I want to threaten them the same way they would do it to us!!!! We are no longer customers so they need to get us a cheque! How much long it will take? God knows!!!:(0 -
I haven't contacted vanquis or vice versa since it was announced that they had been found to be in the wrong and had to give refunds.
I received a cheque in the post this morning 😎0 -
This is literally the first thing I've heard about this and, interestingly, I only know because I saw the refund of interest on my Statement.
Should we have also had a letter, or something explaining how much was due, etc?
EDIT: The refund was straight back on the card, which I'm still paying off.0 -
Just pushing this to see if anyone had letters thru, etc, or just the refund?
Or can I do anything about the general mis-sell?0 -
I got a email the other day....refund of about 90 quid and will be credited onto card.0
