  • Some of the lisy ticked off, it appears little one has other ideas and I ended up pinned to the sofa this afternoon so she could nap, I don’t mind she needs me and I was feeling pretty poorly today anyway. Done the food shop this morning and came in at £32 so have levelled out the food budget from last weeks mammoth spend! Other then that spent nothing.

When I can finally get up I will cook the chicken for OH lunches and make a start sorting the girlies clothes. Oo must check for eBay sells too ! Took advantage of the dry day today and put all the washing out in the garden :j

Need to check bank accounts to make sure they are still looking tidy and going to get OH to do the balance transfer tonight and find me the receipt for the isofix base so I can call JL. Then a lovely chicken casserole for dinner !

Hope everyone’s first day of October is going well!

  • So no luck on jobs today apart from sorting the baby’s clothes! She’s poorly at the moment with a cough so won’t slee unless she’s cuddled ☹️. Spent £10.50 on baby milk out of the budget so that’s all good ! Great news my dad is going to buy the high chair for me so saves me some money. Didn’t get chance to do the balance transfer last night so must do this tonight! It’s hard as OH hasn’t had his light bulb moment so acts oblivious to everything ! Managed to upload some more stuff on eBay so hopefully they will sell soon! Other than that nothing to tell. Cleaning mums house tomorow then meeting up with some ladies and there babbas for a coffee. A woodland walk on Thursday with other mummies and back to one of there’s for a coffee so now spending there ! Plus I get paid tomorrow so some debt payments coming ! X

  • Anybody experience mum guilt? Yesterday I had major mum guilt. All of my mum friends invited me to go to Peppa Pig World and its nearly £60 - £70 for me and my 4 month old which I cant justify. Now in my head I know im being ridiculous as shes 4 months and wont know were she is in the world so it really doesn't matter but a tiny bit of me feels that shes going to miss out on things. For now I am over it but cant help but feel this will happen more in the future untill our finances are in control so any advise on how you do it would be great? Also anybody think its wrong that I am only buying little one a few small toys for xmas? I have asked friends and family for different bits I want for her when they ask for ideas and she has a MAMMOTH wardrobe full of clothes so she doesn't actually need anything and I cant help but think what a waste of money to buy bits for me to then open for her, shes 4 months I think she will be grateful for a box right now :rotfl:

That one showed. The last one I can see was 3/10. Were there others in between?
Well done on turning down Peppa Pig. She wouldn't have remembered it anyway.

Hi, just stopping by to send my support your way and add my tuppence worth.

Mum guilt - The next 20+ years is going to be spent wrestling with mum guilt, but I think the Peppa Pig World thing isn't something you should feel bad about. As you say, she's 4 months old, she won't be able to take part in anything, enjoy any of it or remember any of it so it seems crazy to spend that amount for you and your OH. Save the guilt for later :) You should use this feeling of guilt over her 'missing out' to spur you on in your debt journey. If you can get this cleared by the time she's 3 or 4 or goes to school (or whatever your target is) then you'll be in a much better position to afford to treat her or give her experiences. That's what we're aiming for!

Christmas gifts - My son was only 12 days old at Christmas (2012) and we didn't want the day to pass without marking it. I bought him a little set of Julia Donaldson books and some wrist/ ankle rattles from Lamaze. Family went mad buying him toys and clothes etc so there was really no reason for me to get anything but I just wanted him to have something from Santa.

My second born was 5 months old and we 'regifted' a few toys that used to be my son's and the only reason we did this was so that my eldest wouldn't wonder why his sibling wasn't getting anything from Santa. Otherwise, we probably wouldn't have bothered.

Honestly, I'd say get a 'minding' if you really want to get something but don't buy things just for the sake of it. Enjoy the less expensive Christmases while they last! My eldest is starting to get expensive taste so I wish I'd enjoyed the cheaper years more :)

  • Guys I have been locked out for weeks! I don’t know why but technical support can’t do much they said.It lets me sign in at random times and then locks me again. I am still debt busting but unable to track everything, going to attempt another sign in later on to try and give an idea of where I am but it’s not me falling or the wagon! I’m still here ☺️
