Provide your own receipt. Keep a copy of the original one. Tell the buyer that you will give out a receipt with all the item details, your name and address and the price paid and the date of purchase, the Ebay item number too and method of payment.
Get it printed out and make it look as professional as possible.
It isn't necessary for you to show a customer where you have purchased the goods from. As long as you can provide details of where you purchased it to any authority who may ask (police, trading standards or the manufacturer of the item) there will not be a problem.
Any business who was asked to provide a customer a receipt of where they purchased anything they had sold would tell them to go away, or words to that effect.
But surely only if they were the winning buyer, in the OPs case the auction is still running.0 -
sorry if i have caused confusion in this thread, just thought it was silly to start another thread for similar advice.0

was this reply to me or the OP?
if it was to me then yes they have bought the item and received it today. they have not asked me for the receipt just emailed stating that the item is not genuine, that they want a refund and asking how i wish to proceed with the matter. the only way i can think of to prove to them/ebay/paypal that it is genuine is for them to see the receipt.
Hi, think I got you confused with the OP, lol. I have sold an item for much more than I paid for it buyer asked before the auction ended would I include receipt and I said yes even though it showed how much I had paid and they were happy. I would scan the receipt and if you feel necessary blank out the price and tell them that you are happy to provide proof to ebay/paypal that it is genuine.0 -
Since the item is new are you offering a warranty (probably should)?
But if they wanted the receipt I would be telling them that they can have the receipt but also have the responsibility of dealing direct with your supplier if there are any problems during the warranty period.0 -

Well technically unless the OP is a business seller the item is now second hand unless they want to provide the receipt they shouldn't have to.0 -
You could say it was an unwanted/duplicated gift and you don't have the receipt.0
-
but they want to see the receipt to make sure the item is genuine and not stolen.
as been said, send a copy/duplicate but be very wary of parting with the original to anyone. esp if a bit dodgy. (maybe ok to the wining bidder if they have excellent FB?).Get some gorm.0 -
i would say its available if they are the final winning bidder0

Yep, just reply saying if you are the winning bidder I will include the receipt, happy bidding.
Any luck and they won't win it but don't send any receipts/copies of receipts unless they are the winning bidder no reason for them to need them unless they have won the item.0 -
cant u just include a picture of the receipt in your listing with the amount blanked out. Attatch it to a piece of paper with your username on it. hth0
