I don't mind - I just hope I don't insult anyone anyone :S
It would be just south of London. I'm a highland/fresh air type and have got athsmatic any time Ive ever worked in London or the south east before, making me totally miserable - I just cant cope with it too well!0 -

when I add it up with the snowball calculator, if I snowball it correctly, It will bring it in by two whole years - If I push myself I think I could have a debt free christmas next year - my first in 14 years!0 -
you have my sympathies then but maybe concentrating on some exercise might help this? I know it does for some people but has no effect on others.
There are cheap buses from London back to Glasgow/Edinburgh which might not be the most pleasant way to travel but might make it more affordable to come home, then hopefully Stagecoach to your nearest local town. Personally if your health can take it I'd do it but if you are going to be really unwell perhaps money isn't everything.
At my place there are often opportunities elsewhere and if it wasn't for DS being at school and near to his dad I'd jump at them.Mortgage OP 2026 £640/2000Mortgage balance: £32,240

Just do it. It'll fly by - and it's a lot of the dark months of the year so you won't be missing much!
But, check your insurance on your current home - most have a clause that says the property isn't insured if it is left empty for more than 30 days. So somehow or other, get that covered.
Oh ... and any chance of you giving us a hint what this exceedingly well paid work might be ... in case any of us are ever likely to be able to get into doing it too?0 -

Haha! I'm a computer geek. I work for a big multinational, and they've just landed a big project down there. Clearly they are being paid well enough if they are throwing money around like sweeties - it wil be tough work but as I see it, if I away from home I may as well be getting stuck into it - the sooner I'll get home.0 -
The good thing as you say would be paying off Cahoot early.
