Welcome back.
Sorry to hear things are no better.
Perhaps you could post up an SOA so we can see what the options are for you.SOA = Statement of Affairs (to find a SOA Calculator, google 'make sense of cards' & click on calculators tab > Statement of Affairs)0 -
You gotta a second bite of the cherry - you still have a chance to turn this around. Please get advice from CCCS/National Debtline/CAB etc on this.Making my money go further with MSE :j

Problem is, a debt management programme is not going to work for me anymore, as I've lost my job two weeks ago too.
What I'm thinking at the moment, is I suck at life!

Hi Nowhere, there is a really good thread on here for ex and would-be ex compulsive gamblers, check it out for people who are in the same boat as you.
Compulsive gambling is an illness, like alcoholism, but people find it harder to eccept/believe that because it isn't a physical addiction (like drugs) but a mental one.
My OH ran up 40grand debt in a year spreadbetting. He thought he could make enough money to pay off our mortgage, give up work, buy us great holidays etc. It was neve rgoing to happen.
You have to get in touch with Gamblers Anonymous and you have to stop gambling now, close all your accounts and exclude yourself from all your betting sites. You ain't never gonna win that 70grand you think will solve all your problems.
Then you can check out the debt management sites.
You aren't alone in this and you will feel so good once you have got on top of it.0 -
you need to do a statement of affairs as asked previously..this will show us mortgage gas elec mobile bills etc and we can all help with cutting it down for you..dont be scared..ill tell you something that everyone will agree with me on..
once you start to chip away at your bills...THAT becomes addictive and thats better!!!TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0 -
Hi nowheretorun.......actually you do have somewheretorun....and that's this website! You've run to the right place.
I think the fact that you have lost your job, you're on antidepressants, you are £70k in debt and that you're posting on this forum does suggest to me that there is a part of you that KNOWS the gambling isn't paying off. It is crippling you, or rather you are crippling yourself.
You don't suck at life by any stretch of the imagination, some people are in a worse situation than you believe it or not. However, you do have a serious gambling addiction which you need to address otherwise you will just prolong your agony further. How much more can you really take?
I really feel for you and I hope you can dig deep to find the strength and courage to move forward from the place you are in now, just take baby steps, start thinking realistically small instead of wishfully thinking big.
I wish you every success in your journey. Butterfly x0
