Read the newbie thread at the top of the board and post a soa, we can help you more when we have your details.
Other than that, welcome to the board, it's a lovely place to be and like me you will be one of the longhaulers, so grab a cuppa and make yourself comfortable :rotfl: xx:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0 -
Hi nowheretorun - you can run to DFWs, we'll try and help. As people above have said, an SOA would really help. You are definitely not alone.
Good luck and keep posting!

Hi and welcome nowheretorun. You have come to the right place as this site is filled with great tips and advice and the best part is the lovely people on the forum.
I think that you should post your statement of affairs (soa) and this will help you to see where all your money goes and if there are any savings you can make.LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

Thanks to you too
Indeed, every little well-wish goes a long way to helping build a positive mindset again. At least I know I am not the only one going through this! It sometimes feels like it, though. Still mourning my car that I had to sell yesterday. I loved it.0 -

You're very welcome
Re the gambling - I don't want to be a nag, I really don't
but you know you're never going to win don't you? Without turning this into 'me, me, me', I DO know what I'm talking about here, not through myself, but my husband. I'd say 80% of our financial problems are down to his gambling, which thank god he has stopped now - well, he had to, he had no choice, no money left to play with. He wanted to be a 'professional poker player', but the thing is, the only people that win are the poker sites/bookies.
Please, stop now, while you can, before it's too late. You're never going to win, you're not.
Scarlett xxYou can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Sorry to be harsh, but I think you've proven to yourself that spread-betting is not the way forwards for you. At what point are you going to stop? How painful are you going to make things for yourself?
Have a look at the snowballer at http://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx?country=uk - make sure you're comfortable and then put all your numbers in. The trick is to then work out how you can make your Debt Free Date an achievable date for you.
Chasing your gambling loses is sooo unlikely to work - get some help if you can't do it alone.
Keep positive!

It is very hard to convince myself that I'm a loser. I don't want to do it ... I want to believe that I can be successful!
I guess this is an addiction that needs to be overcome.GettingThingsDone wrote: »Sorry to be harsh, but I think you've proven to yourself that spread-betting is not the way forwards for you. At what point are you going to stop? How painful are you going to make things for yourself?

We had to sell our car last month, it was a lovely car but one that we couldn't afford to run. Hubby bought a wee moped to get around, he bought it from ebay for £192, his budget was £400, so a few pennies left over.
There is a thread on here for the longhaulers, I'll find it and post a link, I'm not taking anything away from anyone on here, debt is debt and it's a horrible thing to have but sometimes it's nice to be among others with the same level of debt than you xx:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0 -

Indeed ... and thanks. I guess I'm a longhauler too, as my level of debt isn't cleared in a few months ... I'm not counting on winning the lottery!
