Recommendation for a Heathrow Terminal 2 hotel.

We got the Radisson Blu for one night - cost I think £25 last minute deal - last year and the bus into T2.
Bus cost us £5 each and stops about 2 meters from hotel doorway.
That might be good.
By bus, I'm assuming you mean the Hoppa?
That might be feasible. I'll look into that.
One lift onto the bus is do-able. I need to avoid multiple lifts. Steps and so on. (I mean, I'm ok with steps, it's the lifting the bag bit!)(I just lurve spiders!)

Have a look at the Special Assistance page for Heathrow Airport:

The accessible Help Bus might be of use to you.
Have you considered staying in a hotel/b&b just outside the airport, then getting a taxi? You can filter your search for accommodation by disabled/accessible if you need ground floor or extra help.0 -

Many thanks, but I'm not disabled.
I damaged my wrists a few years ago, which means that if I have to do a lot of lifting or manoeuvring a case over rough pavements, kerbs etc.., they can become quite painful, plus I have another problem which means that sometimes I can feel a bit unwell, so if the two things coincide, it doesn't make for a great start to a holiday!
Without anything to carry or lift, (unless it's a backpack), I'm fine, and can walk any distance or do any stairs. It's just lugging the case about that has been a problem in the past, so I'm just trying to make things easy for myself.(I just lurve spiders!)

Yes, the Hoppa, and I noticed the driver on the bus we got helped a couple who had what looked like overweight large bags too.
Maybe the same driver will pilot the bus when/if you take that option?0 -
Many thanks to all.
Blindman's suggestion of London Toolkit was useful, as it gave a little map showing the location of bus stops relative to the hotels on Bath Road, and it looks like a couple of hotels do have stops right outside, so that will probably be the way to go, after a google earth check for steps etc.
The £5 Hoppa looks to be a better option than the free bus, as it looks like the stops are more convenient and I believe there is more space on them for suitcases.
It's a shame that the new hotel right in Terminal 2 won't be open in December.....I believe it's opening in the New Year some time ..... but that would be useful in the future.(I just lurve spiders!)

Are the hoppa bus stops right outside the Premier Inn? I don't want to have to lug the case too far, you see.
When you say £5 each trip, do you mean it takes you to T1 and then you have to get another one to T2? Or does it go straight to T2 from the Premier Inn?
I need to minimise the number of times I have to lift the suitcase.
Hoppa departs rear of Premier inn and you stay on bus until you reach your terminal. No changes."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

Pyxis. That free TFL bus can be a bit stressful. They get full, nobody to assist if you need it, there's no announcements regarding where the bus is in relation to the hotels, so you need to keep an eye on where the bus is, miss your stop and you could have a fair walk.
Done it once for Travelodge on Bath Road, and wouldn't do it again. I dislike LHR anyway.
I wouldn't wander round that area either. I'm not suggesting it is a dodgy area, just looks it.0 -

Thanks. Yes, I'm ruling out the free bus.
I'm also now having trouble working out what times the Hoppas leave for Terminal 2..... their timetables are confusing, as is their bus route map, as part of the route is circular, but they don't show the direction the bus goes in.
If, however, I can drop my case off at checkin the day before, it will solve the whole problem, as it won't then matter which hotel I stay in.
At the moment, it looks like I can check in up to 36 hours before, but I need to make sure that means I can drop off my case........ I have an intermediate destination with a connecting flight, so that might make a difference.
I'll have to contact Tap Air and ask them.
I also have to find out if I can personally check in online...... some holidays have a group check in, which means you can't then check yourself in online beforehand....... so I'll need to contact the tour operator.
Jeez! Holidays are hard work!(I just lurve spiders!)

I gave up user Hoppa buses after too many bad experiences... already full buses driving straight past, buses just not turning up at all... And tbh a taxi was cheaper when travelling as a family. That was a few years ago though, hopefully they've got their act together now.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
