Recommendation for a Heathrow Terminal 2 hotel.

I am wondering if anyone has used any of the hotels on the Bath Road at Heathrow closest to Terminal 2?

I need to find a hotel for one night in December, prior to a flight from Terminal 2 the next morning.

I am looking for one that will make it as easy as possible for me to get myself and my case into the Terminal.

It can be painful for me to wheel a case across bumpy pavements, up and down kerbs, or to lift it into buses etc..

I haven't travelled from T2 before; at other terminals, I tend to go to the hotel in or just a few yards from Departures, but I don't think there are any that close to T2.

I may, therefore, have to get a shuttle of some sort, so ideally the hotel would offer that, and have an easy access from the lobby to the shuttle, with not too many steps and not too far to wheel the case.

I've done a lot of googling, but can't get this specific information.
Cost, within reason, is not as important to me as starting my holiday without stirring up my joints!

Can anybody help? Thanks.

An alternative is to check in my suitcase the evening before.
Does anyone know if I can do this from Terminal 2?

They don't tend to offer free shuttle buses. I've used Uber before to get from the hotel before. There are some regular buses that use stops near the hotels.
There is a hotel being built near to T2.
What time is your flight and are you an early riser?

Look at LondonToolkit for the various options.

Hoppa is expensive\slow but door to door

Free London buses-are well free- but may not suit.

    Overnight check in
Depends on the airline but AFAIK this may not be an option at LHR.

I've stayed in Yotel in T4 when catching a morning flight from T3, and just made a quick (and free) transfer between terminals next morning :)

I am an early riser, and I could leave from home, but I just like everything to be as easy as possible, in case of traffic jams, etc., so I do prefer to stay at the airport overnight.

I was hoping to find someone who had stayed at one of the nearest hotels to T2 who could tell me how easy it is to lug a case to a bus/shuttle, etc.
Even a couple of hundred yards over bumpy pavements can be painful, you see.

(I'm fine without the case, which is why I was also wondering if I could check the case in the day before).

Premier inn on bath road, catch the hopper bus stops T1-2-3 (£5 each trip) or grab a taxi around £10-12. There is a free bus never used it myself but takes a lot longer.

Are the hoppa bus stops right outside the Premier Inn? I don't want to have to lug the case too far, you see.
When you say £5 each trip, do you mean it takes you to T1 and then you have to get another one to T2? Or does it go straight to T2 from the Premier Inn?
I need to minimise the number of times I have to lift the suitcase.

We stayed at The Ibis on Bath Road last year, got the free London bus to and from the terminal, the journies were each about 10 minutes or so.

The bus stop going to the terminal was probably 100 yards from the hotel across some traffic lights so if you struggle wheeling a suitcase you might be better checking your case in the night before.

Hotel was fine, food was good. Think it used to be an old office block so the rooms are a bit small but fine just for a one night stay.

We flew Aer Lingus from T2, who is your flight with?

    It's with Tap Air.
I'll have to find out if I can check my case in the day before. I've done that with British Airways and it works well. Saves a lot of grief, and time in the morning too, as you don't have to queue for bag drop.

Was your Hotel the Ibis or the Ibis Styles?

The Ibis, (google street view might be good to have a look at the hotels along that road as I think they are all much the same).

If you can't check your bag in the night before then I think a taxi would be better for you as you'd need to wheel your case over to the bus stop, lift it on and off the bus wheras the taxi driver will do all the lifting for you.

We got the Radisson Blu for one night - cost I think £25 last minute deal - last year and the bus into T2.

Bus cost us £5 each and stops about 2 meters from hotel doorway.
