Another thing to add to this discussion ( I made a separate thread about this a few days ago) , British Gas's new cheaper tariffs (which actually come out best on the comparison sites for me) require you to have a smart meter installed within 3 months of tariff switch, otherwise they then convert you back to another tariff.0

What is the connection between the £60 reduction in your water bill following a meter being installed and your smart meter??
You don't see an automatic saving with a smart electricity meter like you do when a water meter is installed.
Assuming you remain on the same tariff having a smart electric/gas meter installed doesn't mean you will save a penny!
You are saving money because your consumption has gone down!
Correct and it is my SM (or more correctly my IHD) that has helped me to do this.0 -
