I bought Eve magazine for the FREE mascara for my other half, she was most dissapointed with it,all clogging and went everywhere,I emailed Eve magazine and Ruby Millie, got a message back straight away from Ruby Millie, its made for them by Boots, they sent my complaint to them, lets see what happens, others on here seem to have been pleased with it,my other half certainly wasnt, not a bad mag' tho.

Thank you. I thought the mag would have been sold out but I managed to get a copy. Not the sort of thing I usually buy, but worth paying £3.30 for a mascara & geting the mag free! I thought the mascara was well worth it - mine hasn't clogged up at all. Looking forward to collecting my Advantage points but need to get to a bigger store. At least I have until 24 December to use the voucher.0

I am also a subscriber to Eve (following the free issue through the Evening Standard and thereafter 3 issues for £1). I did not receive the Ruby and Millie mascara with my December issue of Eve so emailed their customer services to enquire. This is the response I received:
"In regards to your query about the free cover mounts that usually accompany your issues, I regret to inform you that the free cover mounts are no longer being attached to subscription copies.
The reason for this is that Eve has given great consideration to the distinction between subscribers and newsstand readers and the package of benefits that each receives.
Subscribers are offered a heavily reduced rate and/or a gifted offer – this deal is not available to newsstand readers. At the moment, subscribers are offered a minimum saving of 25% – this is often accompanied by a gift with a value of between £30 and £40. As a result, Eve no longer feel it is economically viable to include cover mounts on subscriber copies, especially where a large discount is being given on the price of the subscription.
Also, subscribers receive a number of exclusive loyalty offers, for example, competitions within their delivery envelope, this not available to newsstand readers. Eve intends to increase and improve the loyalty offers for subscribers, and this will include special discounts on selected retailers as part of their subscription package.
Therefore, as a subscriber, you won’t receive any future free cover mounts, however you will reap the benefits of being a loyal subscriber to eve Magazine."
I have replied saying that I am disappointed with their decision, and that I subscribe to other magazines that all include free gifts with subscriber issues. I can't see continuing my subscription to Eve once my trial offer ends, think I will cancel it.0 -
The reply from Eve sounds like a lot of bluff and bluster to me and certainly smacks of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. As I posted before, I'm also a subscriber - yet I received the mascara so what the reasoning is behind this, we can only guess at
.
Since I'm a firm believer in the 'Co**-up' rather than the 'Conspiracy' theory, I can only surmise that somewhere along the line, someone has 'forgotten' (maybe even conveniently) to include the mascara with some subscription copies  .
To be honest though, you aren't missing out on much here - it's a fairly ordinary low end of the market mascara (gooey with added clumps) and if I had paid £11 for it I would be fuming. Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara is 100% better and less than £11
.
I'm also going to be cancelling my subscription to Eve, but because the magazine itself isn't up to much. Well, you couldn't be a dedicated moneysaver, yet pay for some of the downright ridiculously priced clothes, shoes and make-up promoted within it's pages. It all smacks too much of that children's tale - 'The Emperor's New Clothes' :rotfl: .
