Which Tyres ?
We need 4 new tyres for our Suzuki Swift
At the moment - it has Continental 185/55 16's
What are our best option tyres - cheap or expensive ?
I see that most tyre companies are now stating "summer" and "winter" tyres
What should we be looking for ?
Black circles want about £95 per (conti) tyre - fitted !!

For most of the UK a summer tyre is fine all year. If you live somewhere particularly hilly and get stuck in snow an all season tyre may be an idea, Michelin Crossclimates are well regarded. I would avoid a full winter tyre unless you are happy to run two sets of wheels or get them switched twice a year as they aren't suitable for all year use.
Camskill are good for supply only, see is a local independent tyre place will price match. https://www.camskill.co.uk/m53b0s417p110929/Michelin_Tyres_Car_Michelin_EV_Energy_Michelin_E_V_-_185_65_R15_88Q_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_A_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_70dB0 -
I am thinking about new tyres too. I notice that Kumho tyres look good value for their rating.
Not sure how much confidence we should give the A,B, C, D, E ratings, maybe they fiddle them, like they did with the emmissions.

When your health and safety is reliant on a thin piece of rubber I wouldn't skimp on quality.
You want one that won't degrade with with normal usage and you most certainly want a piece of rubber that's good in the wet.0 -
