  • For what it's worth, just been on the phone to Asda House (as advised to do yesterday) in relation to the Price Guarantee site not working.
The person I spoke to had little to say and I couldn't draw him in to comment, about being unable to download APG vouchers anymore.
He didn't agree or disagree, that this has ended NOW and not the 3rd of October.
I told him I have 3 receipts: £4.75, £1.45 and £0.87, as I was able to check them a few days ago, which is why I am concerned about downloading the apg vouchers.
All he did was apologise and stated he will send me a gift card for £8.00.
I said to him, "Shall I simply throw those receipts in the bin?" He replied, Yes".
I mentioned that there should at least be something written, to inform everyone that they will be unable to login and download vouchers anymore (despite being able to check their shopping?). The pretence that there is a technical error that their "wizards are working on" is clearly there for all to see.
I couldn't get him to comment on any of that. Even when I said I'll be doing my shopping elsewhere, it was water off a duck's back.
Well I guess that's it with their site.

    Hi,
The last time I logged in and successfully downloaded a voucher was 5/9/18.
I was told on 4/9/18, by an Asda colleague, that no vouchers would be downloaded after this date.
However, as stated on their site that "You can continue to check your shop as normal here until the 3rd of October" this does not require logging in.
On 6/9/18, I was checking 3 receipts and saw the APG voucher value, but was unable to go any further as it required logging in.
Since then, I've been saying to myself, "What's the point of Asda showing someone a link to download a voucher, when they are hiding behind a technical glitch, as to not honour it?".
    Hope this makes sense.

    That's the point.

By not allowing people to log in to claim the amount of their APG's until October 3rd as stated in their email, their Statement and on their website; they appear to be misleading customers and the Press with the reality of the situation.

If they told their staff that customers can't print out their vouchers after 5th September as stated in previous posts, as I confirmed myself out of curiousity when I visited a store the other day; yet their site etc states differently then that is dishonest. Emails were sent to customers, like me, on 5th so in effect gave no time to use the ones from our shops.

If Asda were going to deprive customers this way they should have been honest and just stated "as of today no more vouchers can be printed as APG's but existing ones will be honoured".

This will generate a lot of bad will if Asda are playing games with their customers.

All they have to do is what they promised in their publicity by allowing customers to view AND print their vouchers up to and including 3rd October.

It is a matter of principle. I hope that this is purely a computer glitch and that Asda will allow us the ability to print the vouchers until 3rd October

What would make more sense is if the moderators on MSE use their clout to speak to Asda directly as MSE are well respected and have a lot of clout with the Press and companies. They might make the only difference to this. Asda will not care about individuals or even groups however bad publicity would get them to care.

Perhaps if members here ask the moderators to interviene, they might use their clout?

It's like a shop saying "All items are 10p each on Thursday", gaining the publicity, then closing the store for that entire day so no-one can enter and buy anything. Is that honest? Should they get away with that or should they be exposed?? The latter I think...

I have just sent an email to asda and the CEO pointing out the above.
I suggest others do the same.
May just be a glitch with the website but the timing is convenient.
