This is all hopeless IMHO. Sorry.

PCM cases are sooo easy to win but you had to turn up or tell the court you can't, and send a decent set of papers in time!

If you let the WS & evidence stage slip by, without submitting anything at all, and you couldn't attend the hearing but didn't tell the court in advance, then you were bound to lose. And bound to get slapped with costs as well.

Even though you might have had an argument that the Judge erred in law for failing to consider the test of fairness of the terms and consumer signs, as set out in the CRA, I can't see you would be in a position to cope with putting in an appeal and paying £120 to the court then ATTENDING a hearing to appeal it, given you filed nothing.

Part paying won't remove the CCJ - your credit rating will be as 'shot' the same as if you paid nothing. Beg, steal or borrow the money to pay this off in one hit.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
