We moved to be near the in laws last year. I got diagnosed with breast cancer not long afterwards. We moved In with the in laws as a temp measure because would of been a nightmare looking at houses to let etc back when we lived Bristol. Problem is we had to spend all savings on transport etc as my hospital is a 20 mile trip so was a 40 mile trip all round. So with going for chemo once a week, having scans, 1 opa and the radiotheorphy everyday after the chemo all savings are gone. Has been a year aincw we've moved here now. We cant buy a house as we have a iva, which should be finished this November. My husband works but I don't as I suffer bad fatigue etc at the moment and still recovering from all treatment. I am in remission thankfully . We cant get help with council/ housing association as not many where we live at the moment as we moved to help look after my father in law, so neef to be near them. We don't have the money now to try and private let as they won't allow pets etc and I can't face moving in somewhere and the told to move after 6 months. As had that a few times back in Bristol. I really don't know what to do. As it's getting to much living with the in laws. As it's four of us , though will be three when eldest goes back to uni.. would love our own home but I know this probably won't happen. I just don't know what to do. Help and advice needed

There are rentals which allow pets and occupation of a 6 month AST rarely ends after just 6 months. To be a little bit blunt, you can't expect HA or council housing to be exactly where you want it and will have to compromise. If you haven't already done so, emphasise to these bodies about your condition and need to be near in-laws.
You say in-laws, but mention will be 3 when eldest goes back to uni, so many are actually in the house? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Didn't see anyone suggesting they don't pay rent. Why would the LL keep the deposit?billy2shots wrote: »Add in financial loss through a possible lost deposit.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -

The OP has clearly mentioned she couldn't face moving again after 6 months yet you advocate dishonesty which could lead to eviction. Add in financial loss through a possible lost deposit.
Then there's the landlord to think about who chose not to accept a pet which you want to sneak in.
Everyone's a loser!
No idea why you would give shocking advice like this to someone in a such a sensitive position as the OP.
Reported
Well since eviction takes on average 6-9 months, it gives her much more scope...
But ok, report it... I think I can guess which one of us is going to be PPR'd first....0 -

Ah, gotcha. Had one of those on here (3 different guises, sussed them all), got another on a train company FB group, and another on a Chingford group. I just think of them all as fans nowDon't worry this is my forum stalker, he's literally searched the forums to find my posts.

billy2shots - people tend to give facts on here and take the emotions out of the equation. Fact is, Comms69 is right. To say 'Reported' at the end of your post when you can quite clearly see Comms69 has 3,978 posts (and has given lots of good advice over the years) is rather ridiculous. You should not really report someone for thinking their advice is wrong! I can understand why they're not impressed...2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0
