    14 days are up?

Take their junk to the tip. Send them an invoice for your costs if you want.

Yes the 14 days are up and still no letter?
What could be keeping them from responding? Or are they just going to leave it as is?

I can see your caution, you dont want them coming back and saying they wanted them (though I seem to recall you had a communication from them saying they didn't want it back, is that in writing?)

Put them up on eBay, buyer collects, very low reserve, say a 14 day sale period.
That gives them another 14 days to say they do or dont want them, and after that, then in total 28 days have elapsed, no reasonable court (should it get that far) would decide in their favour and if they say "well it was worth £5k" you can point to the auction result of £25 or whatever.

    That's a good suggestion

I doubt they will pursue this but that does cover you

I'm lost. Surely, the bed and chair are not the OP's to sell? Isn't he doing exactly what he was advised not to do, namely intermeddling in the estate and thereby rowing himself into the position of administrator of an insolvent estate?

Kiyamr, is it really, really necessary to dispose of these items just yet? Are you desperate for the space? If not, I'd leave it a fair bit longer, and see what happens. Surely, the value isn't depreciating rapidly? So, what's the rush?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I think OP said they cannot get on and recover space until these are gone. It's hardly intermeddling to remove items that take up space in your house, and they have to be removed at some time. Why not now ? How long do you think should the OP wait ?

(It's no different to if these items were in a rented flat and the LL wanted it gone, that wouldn't be intermeddling to remove)

    Ok an update of sorts.

We still have the bed and chair..still have little space in which to organise my house.
Still no letter regarding the bed and chair it's nearly been 3 weeks since it was sent.

Today my Dad, who if you recall has passed away, revived a letter from Ikano stating he is now in arrears for non monthly payment.
Yes Ikano are aware he passed away, they have his death cert. I know it is an automatic computer generated letter, but surely people should of updated my Dad's file by now? What is going on within this company?

Have you made a formal complaint to Ikano? If not, you can do so here:
    https://ikano.co.uk/help-and-advice/make-a-complaint/complaints

That may ginger things up a bit. You can complain that they should not be sending correspondence to your home address, as it's naturally upsetting. You can also ask them to explain why they have not answered your earlier queries about the bed and chair.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Ok..sort of good news...Ikano are slow at sorting accounts out and they do tell porky pies about sending out letters..then telling me no letters were ever sent..hmm.

But anyway..i have recived 1 letter stating that the account for the chair has been written off...so that is good..

But what about the bed..well, they have requested another letter from me saying exactly the same thing that I put in the original letter with regards to the chair.

    Utter craziness..but making progress slowly.
