That is a debt collector letter. The fourth post of the NEWBIES explains why it can safely be ignored.

The debt crawlers have added on a fake £60 to which they are not entitled. You may or may not get a court claim in the future. If so, it is likely that the scamlicitors will add on the same fake amount which is an abuse of the court process and unrecoverable.

Fair is not a factor in scams.  Your are not dealing with John Lewis.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

My wife is saying just pay it, 

£160 is only paid when a vulerable or naive victim pays it.  Do you want to be that person? 

The added £60 doesn't exist.  The parking firm has not paid CST £60.  There is no £160 in play. 

It would worse than idiotic to pay £160, when you are on this forum.

your absolutely right, i decided to get the letters i have been sent, and when looking at them it makes me even more frustrated as it kept changing

People need to grow some backbone and not give in to sc#mmers who demand money with menaces

A typical loss in court is about £200 , so personally I would fight it and only pay if a judge says so , within one month of his or her judgment , not because sc#mmers are doing , be they from Ecp , CST law or living in an African state or from Asia etc

What I don't understand is why you posted without researching it , it's not as if you are the only one , these companies have had little income during the pandemic so think that if they shake the tree the fruit will fall from those with weak stems

In the last week or two I have seen numerous posts like yours about Ecp and CST law , spare a thought for those of us enduring Groundhog Day

It's an official LBC or court claim pack paperwork you should be asking about , if it arrives within the 6 year timeframe

i did a quick research and couldn't really find a quick answer , and i will be honest and say i slightly panicked and thought by posting on my original post people will help, and you guys did, and i want to thank you , i know i should have spent a bit more time researching and will do so in the future. i have now read your other post which you have said start getting ready etc and you know what, that's exactly what i am going to do. i still have all the original pics etc and i am going to go and get a video of the drivers view ( which is a great idea)
and like a lot of people, i got made redundant in march because of Covid, no job ,no pay i have had to go on a DMP so the last thing i need is this

As well as my recent posts in that and other threads here , I hope you read what Umkomaas and beamerguy and coupon mad and others said as well , because good explanations were given as to what is happening and why

Brown trout posted on here about CST law some 6 months ago , pre pandemic

So the regulars here attend daily so see the patterns and trends , like if you track covid daily you can see where it's heading even if you are not a clinician or a doctor or a politician

My view is that the lack of income due to covid will make debt chasing very prevalent , especially by those who have lain low before the lockdown , people like Ecp and Highview are already doing so , they have been poked with a stick and are awakening from slumber

I suspect that real LBC letters and real court claims will start to trickle in , then a tsunami of them , as seen with other companies like Britannia for example , so yes , get ahead of the game , gather evidence with a SAR , with cameras , with any witnesses , read other threads , start a WhatsApp group , don't be like that lazy ####### I was sparring with a few days ago on here !!!

Read the typical defence template at the top of this forum and alter 3 or 4 paragraphs to suit your own case and save the draft , also writing a draft WS and saving it with your evidence , your Exhibits and your draft defence as well , like the scouts , be prepared

That is what I would be doing at this time , no time like the present !!
