    Just take it to the tip / get it removed and enjoy your new home.

    fold it, put it in the back of your car, take it to the nearest recycling centre, job done.
    You bought a property, at some point you have to learn to deal with all the stuff yourself, you can't expect others to sort out your issues for you.

    i cannot believe the amount of whinging and involving solicitors for a simple matter one can sort out in literally minutes.

    Not common, but if they left in a hurry or were fleeing violence for example it might not have been their top priority.
