You have already knocked £10K off the asking price a day before exchange - how expensive will it be for the council to collect it?
You can ask on facebooks local selling sites for a man and a van to take a mattress to the tip - they probably charge you 10er - if that is still too expensive then I think you should sell up and go back to renting.0 -

OP you're lucky an old mattress is all they left for you. Just hope the house doesn't start to develop a mysterious rotten odour over the next few weeks that you can't find the source of...0 -

The seller has apparently moved abroad so I think a pragmatic approach needs to be adopted in that the disposal is sadly going to be left to the purchaser.
It's annoying but not worth spending time on.0 -
