Need some advice on a buyer requesting refund for NAD

To be fair, unless this was technology or something with a unique identifier this could be any future sale, regardless of warning signs.
but yeh, caution level is set slightly higher now. Currently negotiating to see if/what he'd accept as a partial.
I'm ready to write this one off but I'm going to push it as far as possible after buyer resolution as, is my right and also learning curve/curiosity.
Basically, block, potentially challenge feedback left, report via ebay (most dependent on what returns), RM claim.
Also going to ensure he sends image of package prior to sending along with tracking, then i'll video record receipt and opening of it.
Honestly, makes me laugh, these lengths...0 -
How are you going to ensure buyer sends images of packaging? Await return, refund, move on, life is too short. Your video is also a waste of time, proves nothing, ebay/Paypal will not view it.0

I make a request, they were forthcoming in sending images of the damage, so can't see it being an issue and the resolution/pre-processing ebay system provides that specific facility...
In all honesty jeff, i'm not sure why you bothered to respond to a thread in a manner that is contradictory and as you so eloquently put, a waste of space.
If you want to take this argument up, we can. I suggest not returning.0 -
Ebay/Paypal will not take video evidence when deciding that the buyer wins.0

Not arguing btw.0

They won't but if he blatantly attempts some form of fraud upon return, then the evidence would help prove a crime.
Now, I know that comment will leave me open to abuse but I don't tend to roll with the defeatist attitude. Whether it's a waste of time or not, the bottom line is if it's wrong it's wrong. I don't want to go off-topic completely but the roll over and take it attitude pretty much sums up everything wrong in this day and age, how people aren't sick of it amazes me.
We do nothing, nothing changes. There's always something that can be done. It's the small things that are continuously abused because obviously no ones gives 2 damns, everything accumulates and escalates in the end, where we draw the line is where personal opinions differ.
Regardless, thanks.0 -

Regardless, thanks.
Proves the item was damaged during transit as they stated.
It is no evidence of anything more0 -
Whilst I genuinely appreciate all the comments and suggestions, it still amazes me how quick people are to throw a comment out that absolutely defeatist. Maybe I'm showing my age but when did everyone just give up?
Custardy that's dependent on numerous variables, I made that specific comment in light of it's beginnings, I won't be disposing of the original packaging. To spell it out, if the internals are damaged beyond what was shown but the outer packaging completely negates the possibility of it occurring in transit.
Whilst I can clearly see this boils down to personal opinion on lengths you will go to which we all clearly differ, i'll just point out one thing (that shouldn't matter, just ironic with the speed of the negativity), if I told you the item was worth nearly £10k.....
At this point I'm not looking for anymore answers because I have received sufficient help, so thank you. Anything else is likely to be a continuous tirade of negative approaches because supposedly, that's life and that's how we deal with things.0 -
I think people are being realistic based on extensive experience with Ebay not being negative for its own sake.
Let us know how it turns out. Your thread can be useful for others in a similar situation if the outcome is posted.
Best wishes in resolving matters.0 -
Just checking whether you used GSP or not? If not maybe consider it as this would now be ebay's headache and not yoursYou're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0
