We went for our usual jaunt to the seaside today :) It was glorious, sunny and clear blue skies. It was really nice to be out. We even had ice-cream.

I've registered for a month's free trial of netflix so I can watch the Marie Kondo programme. Having a look around there's quite a lot I fancy on there, so might keep it for a bit. I've picked the £5.99 a month option, I think that would be ok for us, but I'll decide whether to keep it at the end of the month. I'm cancelling our BT TV package so it should still save me money.

I've also restarted the great declutter for 2019. Following KM again, I started with little miss's clothes today. They are all sorted and all old/tatty/too small stuff is gone. I'll try and do mine and little jwil's tomorrow.

Hope everyone has had a nice day xx

Thanks for recommending the Marie Kondo show! I'm totally loving it. That's how I did it to begin with pouring everything out and not putting it back unless it deserves to stay and has a place. However I could never get on with her folding style. It would all look creased and the kids would obliterate it daily.

I'm not in opposition to you making f&fs. I just didn't like how you were focused on the £256. That is definitely not the headline here. I think you'd do well to make a low offer and get shot of another creditor off the list. Xxx
    Loan 1 £5200/£8000
    Loan 2 £300/£5800
    Total £5500/£13800

I started watching it yesterday too, it's great! Ooh, I love the folding though (when I can be bothered) that's one of the biggest things for me! But yes, the kids do mess it up :(

Aww the £256 was just the total. I'm resigned to it not being a lot, I wasn't unhappy about it. It was downwards, which it wasn't for many years! Because it's the 'free' months for Council Tax and Water soon, I'll use the money from those to offer the F&F. I don't think they'll accept it, so it will then go towards the house fund. Just taking a gamble on whether they've got some targets to meet or trying to offload some accounts :D

Little miss has gone back to nursery today, and DH is back to work so I am trying to get some stuff done!

I've started prepping the veg for the freezer and have emptied stripped down the hoovers to give them a good clean out including all the filters.

I've gathered up a load of stuff to go out for recycling and to the bin, including a load of old proofs of posting.

I'm going to make up a big list for my decluttering categories and hopefully tick them off throughout the year.

Well done on the decluttering. I am always sending stuff to CS, selling FB etc but trying to get rid of OH's stuff is a nightmare...we have DVD's still in the cellophane wrapping that he says he "might" watch one day....I know he won't as they have been on the shelf at least 12 years since we moved to this house. But I cannot get him to budge.

Oh I have the exact same problem - DH never watches his DVDs. He's got loads of them. He's slowly getting better with letting stuff go, so I'm hoping we'll get there one day. He does the same with newspapers and magazines too. I try and remind him that when the time comes that he has time to do these things, he'll probably want to be out and about anyway, not sitting at home watching dvds and reading decades old magazines!
