OK Ryanair, I’ll pay your blood money

How does anything you've said show that it's wrong? Your argument seems to be that because elderly passengers and people retrieving handluggage can slow down evacuation, then other things won't. Obviously this doesn't follow.
No what i meant was that people being sat apart would not be the cause of hold ups on an emergency evacuation but the other things that i mentioned.0 -
All this moaning for a few quid.
I just don't understand it myself. But I don't care, I will pay for priority and seat selection because thems the rules for what I want.
Those who hate these rules are barmy and up for a fight no matter what. Choice is there if you don't like RYR rules, but most love their destinations, so there! Pay the money or get off the pot and choose another airline. RYR is not going to change for you.
And RYR safety record is impeccable. Compare it to others first.0 -

I don't know how you arrive at this conclusion. Families being sat apart sounds like something that could easily delay evacuation to me.0 -

Behind you is a 13 year old child sat with strangers.
Then there's you.
Then in front of you there's someone who wants to collect their luggage/camera.
In front of them is an elderly/infirm passenger.
Then in front of them is the parent of the 13 year old who didn't want to pay extra to sit with their child.
Now, what should happen is parent gets off, elderly/infirm passenger takes a while to get off, but does, passenger finds luggage/camera and gets off, you follow close behind them and 13 year old follows close behind you.
But the reality is that the parent will want to be with their child. So they are now trying to get back, against the tide of other passengers from these rows, past the elderly/infirm passenger and past the idiot trying to find their camera. Are you seriously saying that that won't slow things down?0 -

No we will all burn to death:eek:,in reality people will push the passenger going the wrong way ( for their child ),push the elderly out of the way and if some idiot tried to get their hand luggage/camera etc i would push them out of the way.
This whole thread boils down to the fact that if you want to sit next someone of your choice-PAY THE MONEY:eek:0 -

Exactly. Thanks.
Penny wise, pound foolish. Away with them!0 -

It's not the point of the thread at all!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Until the inevitable accident happens, likely to be just as bad as the British Airtours Manchester accident. The aircraft evacuation won’t be quick enough.
Ryanair operates in a similar way to easyJet at Stansted and other UK airports, full CAA rules should apply to both, but the incompetent UK government ignores this.
RYR fully comply with minimum evacuation times from their a/c as set by the IAA, they wouldn't be flying if they didn't. The CAA have no say whatsoever.
No it doesn't, Easyjet operate under a British or Swiss AOC and are regulated by the CAA or FOCA. 'Full' CAA rules, whatever you think they may be do not apply to RYR in the seating of pax.
You really need to stop pedalling this rubbish !I would very surprised if RA where not required to comply with any CAA rules.
The fact that the CAA don't enforce them is a completely different matter.
Quite simply, in terms of seating they are not. Just as with ships, the law of the country of registration applies yet consistently on these threads people like yourself who don't know any better are incorrectly advising people. That's the fact !0
