Who's your Broadband Provider and how do you find them?

What provider are you with and how are you finding the service in terms of up time and reliability?
I find it impossible to read about providers on line because the only reviews are because someone has an issue.
Currently I'm with Virgin Media and it's been very reliable. My issue is their customer service, the fact that you have to be a new customer to get the best deals and they've increased my price twice in the last 3 months. They want to charge me £45 for broadband (100Mbps) when I could save £20 by changing to ~50Mbps with another provider.

BT originally then Sky for a lot of years. Now with NowTV.
Never had an issue with any of them, yes honestly, not one single issue. There may have been the odd loss of service (over many years) due to work on the exchange but I won't include that as an issue. I've only moved due to costs.0 -
Andrews and Arnold (aka A&A, AAISP)
Found them talked about on demon.service when I was still on (ISDN) dialup and moved to them when ADSL came to where I was living 15 years ago. Still with them. Support on the telephone is everything you would hope for, they employ people in Bracknell that know about networks and the internet not script readers in Manilla, though in all that time I've only needed it with an intermittent line fault that needed Openreach to fix. If you want to read reviews, go to ISPreview, click on "Top 10" and see which ISP is top of the "Top 10 UK broadband ISPs" list.
No slowdowns, disconnections, problems. It runs at the speed it should all the time. No introductory deals, no cashback, no pre-paid mastercards, no haggling, no retentions or other games, price on the website is the price you pay . They are expensive, but I want a service that works and I'm not a cheapskate so I pay it.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
It really all depends upon what you actually want .Customer Services cannot say i need them . VM high speed really of no use to me with high prices .
Reviews no don't bother with them .
Find an ISP suppose i already know all the major players .
Require BT Sport so at the price and the fact that i can usually do a deal its BT for me .0 -
I've been quite impressed with Sky. Their staff are friendly, polite, and listen to you.
One thing I hate is that they won't give you the username and password required to use your own router, although there are ways round that.
I had an absolute nightmare trying to switch to Vodafone. There was always a long wait to get through, and their staff were pretty useless. I'd avoid them like the plague for now.0 -
been with aaisp since 2000 and it's a good quality service although not the cheapest - it seems aimed at the 'tech' market mainly - in the early days when they had a handful of customers i would often end up speaking to the md if i had a technical query0

With Sky at the moment and everything is fine. On an offer so cost is ok.
Will shortly be changing to Now TV though due to price.0 -
Plusnet for about a month, really good so far, no drop outs.
Virgin Media before that for 9 years, service has been brilliant, reason for leaving they couldn't drop me an offer cheap enough to stay and never called back to offer me one. Been on the lowest speed as speed is not an issue, cost is.0 -
Vodafone for me - not really had to use customer service very much.
It's been perfectly fine - no problems - speed and router have been good.0 -
Now TV - customer service is fine, and it is good VFM (£20pm for 38Mbps Fibre/Line Rental/Phone Service).0

Been with Origin Broadband for the past two years now. First an 18 month contract and then an 18 month renewal at more or less the same price. I pay the whole lot in advance, so no sneaky mid-term price increases.
Have found them to be very reliable. Only used CS a couple of times and each time been OK, if a bit slow.0
