    You are not wrong
Part of the EU wide PSD2 (payment services directive No 2)
Mandatory implementation date in early 2019 as I recall.
Quite how each financial group will implement the 2FA requirements in each of it payment channels remains to be seen - probably all differently!

Texts to Europe should arrive free of charge Buffman, certainly have the ones I have received. For 1p per minute calls on your mobile, which is exactly the same cost even when using it in europe to UK numbers or mobile, I can't understand why more people don't use the pay as you go SIM from 1pmobile. You have to top up £10 amount 3 times a year but this works out way less than lots of monthly contract ones out there and for low phone use people like we are it is ideal.

i dare say i have this wrong, at least i hope so, but i vaguely remember reading something, somewhere, that these wretched OTP things will be mandatory soon for online transactions?
(hopefully someone who knows can set me straight on this as i now cannot find the article i read about this)

Surely the overriding reason for having a mobile phone is your personal safety, and nothing to do with Beehive. If you are out on your own and have a seizure/heart attack/stroke or you find your car stolen or was it milk or apples you were asked to pick up on the way home.

A simple phone is not expensive and giffgaff do £5 pm deals for what you would need for probable usage.

    Worth thinking about? :)

It would make sense if you are each time given the choice how to receive the OTP - text or email. That will enable those abroad to receive the code over WIFI.

In answer to Motormad, I received an activation code in a letter,I got months ago,and chose a username and password. If you don’t have the activation code, you will need to contact Notingham bs for a new one.
