Barclays/Woolwich Mortgage PPI advice please

It depends on their policies. Some pay out on low value complaints because it's not worth the time investigating. Others will only pay out on genuine complaints as a matter of principles.
There's no 'hard ball' though. Just customer who have made up spurious complaints and get annoyed when when they don't get a payout.
Many of the complainants didn't even have a PPI policy but could resist the jingle jangle of the passing bandwagon.0 -
For my credit card PPI complaints they are with Capital One, CITI, EGG and MBNA..........any idea what their general policies are?
I would assume my complaint is small as I never had massive credit card balances?0 -
Your complaint is the same size regardless of balance. It's only the size of any redress which is impacted by the balances and therefore the PPI paid if any.
Just put your complaint reasons in to each lender and see what comes back. No point in getting your hopes up or otherwise based on other's experiences.
If you have a genuine complaint, you're likely to be successful.0 -
Thank you.
I have been honest with all of the forms I have sent back.
The only thing I havent been sure of in each case is the method the policy was sold - ie by Telephone or by Post. I have said post where I cant remember - I assume this wont go against me if I have that bit of information wrong?0 -
It would have been better to put that you don't remember, rather than guess.0

Unfortunately, it is harmful to your mis-selling complaint whether it is true or not. If it is false then obviously it weakens the veracity of your complaint, but if it is true it indicates that you bought the insurance rather than being (mis) sold it.
Why have you made these supposed statements of "fact" when you had already been specifically told here on the forum not to guess as it weakens the complaint?

You may yet obtain a refund of your PPI, but in future please don't ask for advice and then roundly ignore it.0 -
Thank you for the sound advice.
I genuinely do appreciate the advice on the forum.
I will keep you updated as to the outcome.
Thanks again.0 -
