Barclays/Woolwich Mortgage PPI advice please

67 Posts
Hi Everyone, good morning.
I have been informed that I had PPI on an old Woolwich/Barclays mortgage (taken out in 2002)
I have sent back the complaint forms and I’m awaiting their decision.
Just wondered if any of you guys have had any experience claiming back PPI on a Woolwich/Barclays Mortgage?
Thanks in advance!

However, it depends on your circumstances, not those of others.
Thanks for the heads up.
Out of interest, why are Mortgage PPI claim successes lower?
This is because MPPI is generally a very good idea and is part of a more thorough fact finding process.
Thank you.
Yes, sorry, complaint not claim.
My complaint is based on the fact that I wasn!!!8217;t aware that I could buy this policy elsewhere (at potentially a better price) and that I was told the policy was required in order to get the mortgage.
They also don't need to tell you that you can buy it elsewhere- in the same way that Tesco's won't send you down the road to Sainsbury's to buy cheaper bananas.
I will let you know how I get on.
It doesnt sound as though I will be successful though - based on your advice?
No one thought Donald Trump would become president.
As a general rule of thumb would you say all companies deal with PPI fairly, or are some companies better than others?
I didn!!!8217;t know if some lenders were more likely to just refuse a complaint compared to other lenders?
Looking through old threads on here it seemed as though some lenders were just paying out almost every time whilst others seemed to play hard ball?
