As someone who is going to make the jump from payg to contract can anyone let me know how you keep a record of how many free minutes you have used per month eg offers states 200 free mins a month

    depending on which network your on (different numbers) ... you can check the number of free mins left .... 3 updates every time you ring ... orange I think a few times a day... not sure with others..

    You can use the call counter facility which is on all (I think) phones.

    200mins is equal to 3hours and 20minutes. Therefore when you get to about 3hours and 10minutes on your counter (to be on the safeside) you can stop using your phone for calls to ensure you don't go over your free allowance.

    Alternatively, the networks depending on the tariff, allow you you to view your bill online. I know o2 do it (not sure if its all tariffs) but o2's is about 2 days behind though.

    3, Orange, T-mobile have this on the automatic menu when you ring the CS number. O2 do not. I don't know about Vodafone.

    with vodafone dial 191 then press option 2 and then option 1, and a text will be sent with the number of minutes used

    I'm with BT Mobile, and you call 150 and speak to customer services anf they will tell you how many mins you have got left.
