Is there an event/time we have to wait for? Or can we withdraw the funds anytime today and still create the anomally? Or when the interest is showing? Or what?
Do w/d & close? Of w/d & leave it open?

After it shows on 'Uncleared transactions' but before it appears in 'Cleared transactions'. Normally appears there after 8pm.

It has to be a closure.

Remember that interest was paid in March, so the double interest will only be minimal this time round (as is the case with people who choose monthly interest).

Would the fact the maturity date is on a non-working day affect when the account closes and the money transfers? Especially as the next working day is not until the 23rd.....
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

It does everything in real time but post dates the transactions to the next working day.

Well on the previous issue the interest appeared uncleared the day before maturity on the 19th and it was there as early as 5pm before. Looking at it now there are no uncleared transactions, though I presume that since Good Friday is one of those days that nobody seems 100% sure whether its a Bank Holiday or not, the bank treats it as one.

Will have to look tomorrow to see what happens with the interest. But assuming Virgin's systems have been fixed so these accounts can't mature on the 19th now, hopefully the double interest figure has been fixed too. Time will tell, hopefully tomorrow (or if not, on Tuesday).

Yep, just looked again after seeing your message. I got £9.03 for a balance of £3509.03. Close the account and now I've got £3517.95 heading in my direction.

I also see another letter heading my way via Royal Mail in three weeks time asking me to refund what they've screwed up. Well at least this time its only £8.92, as opposed to £50 last time.

I have monthly interest, so only get an extra £2 each time. They've never bothered writing to me asking for the money back, so hopefully they won't do it for anyone this time round.
