Greenhouse Staging

Well we have just ordered the greenhouse on line. I think its the same one as yours but we have bought it through screwfix.
Hubby likes a challenge :rotfl:
Where the back of my greenhouse will sit I already have two grapevines which I planted in September (a present for my birthday)
My plan is to keep a strip of soil where these are growing and hopefully get some tomatoes on the go next year.
I have an allotment which Ive had for about a year ad a half so still quite new to gardening and the greenhouse will let me get seeds on the go earlier.
Thats the plan anyhow
Would love to grow cucumbers and peppers as well, but lets get the thing up first before my ideas go wild.
Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

I think most of them are like that. Why they are so complicated to put together is beyond me. I have been an engineer for >30 years and it still took me 2 days to put ours together....worth it in the end though.

This type of staging is quite good:

It's fairly inexpensive, lightweight and best of all - it's modular. You can add or remove shelves as needed - great for taller growing plants such as peppers, which may need to be on a lowered shelf to accommodate their height whilst still allowing them access to full light.0 -
Ive just taken delivery of a new greenhouse. What is the best staging to buy ? Im trying to set it all up properly this time with staging and an irrigation system.
Thanks0 -
I've gone for the slatted aluminium. Because it's lightweight, lets air circulate and is less likely to harbour fungi/algae/bugs than something wooden.
Oh, and for potting on or when I need to stand plants/seedlings in a little water, I use the £1 Ikea plastic trays.
Whatever you go for, I hope will enjoy your greenhous, I certainly do :j
PS: Haven't got an irrigation system, maybe you will need something more solid to support capillary matting?0 -
I like wood as its more temperature stable than aluminium, and i made my own from pallets that didnt look to bad once mpainted up.
However, i do see durability and storage advantages with aluminium so this is worth a look.

cheapest way for me was a mini greenhouse, fraction of the cost of shelving and extra insulation inside main greenhouse.Give me life, give me love, give me peace on earth.0
