Hi Folks
(I hope I am doing this correctly-I read the Newbie bit and I think this is how I go forward)
I am working on behalf of my son who recieved a CCJ form in the post for a PCN we sent an appeal in for last year. Offence date 23/09/2017

He pulled into an NCP in Hemel town centre at 9.30 at night looking/waiting for someone. He never left the car and drove back out at 10.00pm

When he received this we wrote to them with this information and heard nothing so we assumed that that was the end of the matter.

Now we get this CCJ out of nowhere.

I am going to work with him tonight to get a gateway account and re-lodge this defence.

Am I doing things correctly ?

When you say "CCJ" do you mean an actual County Court Judgment, or is the paperwork just threatening to take them to court?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Did he receive court papers to defend a claim OR did he receive an actual CCJ?

Thanks for the quick responses folks

The paper is listed as court form N1SDT etc so I think it is the actual thing

It is a claim form, did you/your son receive a letter before claim?

This is a claim - to be defended - and not a CCJ. The J in CCJ stands for judgment. The matter has not been judged yet.

See the Newbies thread on what to do at this stage.

I do not have a letter before claim. This is the first I have seen since sending my appeal. Surely something that important should be sent registered post so it does not get mistaken for junk mail

    Hi IamEmanresu

Reading the Newbie thread - setting up a new thread was the next course of action after getting a gvt gateway pass.

    If not I appologise

The defence I intended to use is the truth as it was the basis of my original appeal.

He pulled into an NCP in Hemel town centre at 9.30 at night looking/waiting for someone. He never left the car and drove back out at 10.00pm. He was only there for less than an hour of which the majority was spent looking for his friend. When he could not find him he immediately left the car park - without parking.
