    Depends what you call basic maintenance. Oil and spark plugs are easy enough I'd have thought (at least once you've found them)
    It does depend how much time, money and inclination you have though. And how near a specialist is if you're driving things that are less mainstream.

    I just bung mine into the garage myself these days. Not that it's anything special.

    I think the fantasy car was a year old. He was bragging about the great deal he had against new list price. Still for a car like that, I'd have taken out replacement GAP insurance through someone other than the dealer...but then he reckons he got full payout from insurers...
