And you believe that? :rotfl:
However, looks like a service before October will preserve the warranty, and assuming it had the first one around October last year, it wouldn't have been serviced anyway, you'd still be paying for one in October.
The first service is apparantly only a pollen filter change so not major. We intend to ask them to supply a new service book so we can keep the record straight from there on. Exhausted by the whole purchase of the car so many problems that we thought wouldn’t happen with an approved Renault dealer, they must have a book of fibs as long as your arm..... saying that we are extremely happy with the vehicle itself0 -
Well we finally received a reply from the Renault dealer on our way down to our holiday cottage in Cornwall. Having now returned home it's time to decide the next course of action whether to request a new service book so that the records are correct (not sure if we can get a new one with vin stickers etc in it) or whether to take the matter to trading standards? any thoughts appreciated thanks we are more than happy with the car and don't want to return it just not happy at all with their shoddy standards. We just wonder how many other people has it happened to without them realising. Reply from garage posted below.................0

I have had correspondence with Renault Wolverhampton in regards to the servicing of your vehicle and can now confirm that the vehicle wasn’t serviced with Renault Wolverhampton. As to how the book became stamped by them, I’m unable to confirm as there is no electronic copy of any work carried out by them, nor any electronic copy of the vehicle ever being in Renault Wolverhampton’s possession.
I can confirm that the vehicle was serviced with Renault Retail Group Croydon on 06/06/2018. I can only apologise that the service book wasn’t stamped at the time and if you’d like to mail the service book back to me, I will rectify the incorrect stamp and have the correct one stamped into the book.
As an attempt toward rectifying the situation in a satisfactory fashion for you, we would also like to extend the offer of a complimentary next service for your vehicle, which under the servicing schedule would be due in October. If you are happy with this, please confirm with me via email and send the invoice directly to me so that I can arrange payment to you. The average cost of this service should be in the region of £180.
Please also let me know the cost of postage for your handbook and this will also be covered by us.

I wonder if the previous owner noticed that the garage that serviced the car (Croydon) forgot to stamp the book so popped into the nearest Renault dealer at the time (Wolverhampton) to sort it out resulting in them checking the computer & stamping the book with their stamp as confirmation of the service?
Sounds like a good resolution from your point of view !Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???0 -

We purchased the vehicle from Croydon! There was only one previous owner.0
