Service Stamp Missing

Purchased a Renault Grand Scenic in July 2018 the service book was stamped by a Renault main dealer in March the Renault dealer we bought it from stated an approved check had been done by themselves on the vehicle prior to us collecting.
6 Weeks after purchasing the car we were unfortunate to get a puncture. At the same time the orange spanner came up on the instrument display indicating a service was due. I rang our local Renault dealer as the car had only covered 1000 miles since the service in March.
Having made a few enquiries it appears the garage where the car was serviced in March have never seen it and it is not on their workshop records they did however state the dealer where we purchased it from in July carried out a used car sales service in June.
Our query is they sold it on the pretext that it had had a dealer service in March and feel they are trying to cover something up as why do a used car service in June and not stamp the service history book??

They're not trying to cover up anything, the vehicle check in June is simply that, a vehicle check, which they'll do an all vehicles prior to sale, it's not a service so won't go in the service book.
Is this an Approved Used vehicle?
If they stated it was serviced in March and it wasn't then at the very least you should get them to pay for a free service now.0 -

I'd be interested in why it has a main dealer stamp in March, along with a mileage reading, for a service that seems to have never happened.
This might affect any warranty, which is possibly a major reason that you bought an approved used car in the first place.
The selling dealer will have access to the online records and can explain everything, or put it right, I'm sure....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Yes it’s an approved used vehicle purchased from a Renault dealer who are part of Renault Retail Group0 -

The two garages in question are both part of the Renault Retail Group so have centralised computer systems they can check0 -

Indeed it was one of the reasons. We’ve emailed the dealer principal of the garage we purchased the vehicle from today and will await to see what they have to say......0 -

What sort of resolution do you want to this? I had something similar when I bought a car that turned out to have a forged service history. The dealer immediately offered to refund me as they probably wanted to avoid an investigation by trading standards which would have been my next port of call.
Let us know what their response is, certainly sounds dodgy.0
