Switching from Sky to Now TV - question about equipment - router and wifi extender pls

Hi,
We are switching from Sky Broadband to Now TV broadband.
We understand Sky and Now TV are connected.
We've received the new router from Now TV which looks identical to the existing Sky one. Of course it has it's own name, password and PIN on a label.
Our question is can we just leave in place the existing Sky router and would it just "work" when our broadband is switched across?
The reason we ask if that (a) it means we haven't got to faff around unplugging everything and (b) we have poor wifi and so had a Sky Q wifi extender and we're not sure it will work with the Now TV router (have posted a question about this on the forum).
If we can leave the Sky router in place - how do we use the new password and PIN info supplied by Now TV on its router?
Sorry for dim questions - confused as haven't switched before...!

Firstly you don't need 2 different threads for what essentially is the same question.

If we CAN'T leave the Sky router in place and have to plug in the new Now TV router, does anyone know whether the Sky Q WiFi booster/extender Sky supplied should work with the Now TV router?

I'll bite... Although Sky and Nowtv share the same parent company, my guess is you cannot mix and match their kit. So on change-over day the Skybox will stop working and you'll have to plug in the Nowtv box. Similarly the SkyQwifi booster won't work with the NowTV box. Did you think you could mix and match?
A question for you. Have you bought any Nowtv packages or are you using an aerial (e.g. freeview) or sat dish (freesat)?
EDIT: regarding using the Sky wifi booster, see the last post here

I think that the only real way to tell will be to try it. If I had to take a guess now, I'd say that the Router will not work, not without fiddling with the ID details it uses to link to the server (and that is fiddly and not recommended to people without router config experience).
The Wifi extender might conceivably still work. It uses WPS authentication, so going through that process again with the new router may prove successful.
The OP may not be using TV at all - both Sky and Now TV provide BB as a standalone service.0 -
In essence your Now Broadband router has a different IP address, Username and password embedded into it, so the Sky one will not work, even though they may share the same backbone network0
