Morning folks
Dawn - I hope your back recovers soon
Foxgloves - good news on your mum's transfer
Big hugs to any poorlies
Bit of a strange weekend as mostly sat around getting pampered or crocheting. Am currently steaming through the "January" section of the blanket. Only Jan-Apr to do (CAL started in May). Then join sections together and do an edging!
Did a lot of cooking yesterday and made a batch of courgette chutney, which removed 2 more monster courgettes from the pile.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores
- Try to focus and work hard
- Pick blackberries at lunchtime - done. I'd left it a bit late as there were loads that had shrivelled up on the bushes but I think I have about 500g in total
- Crochet
- Reconcile budget sheet
- Bring curtains in from line where they are airing. I don't dare wash them as they belong to the LL. Fix slightly ratty corner on them.
- Check on garden. Pinch out tops of basil and freeze.

 Afternoon all, I've been away for about 6 weeks after receiving a PM that freaked me out a [STRIKE]bit[/STRIKE] lot. This message included my real first name which I didn't remember posting so I immediately went through and deleted as many of my posts as I could, disabled pms's and signed out of MSe. I have still be reading along but have missed being involved so have decided to not let some idiot get in my head like they did and sign back in.
We've had a chilled couple of days as dh is back to work tomorrow after a couple of weeks annual leave. We've rearranged furniture again in the main sitting room that the kids use so that it suits their current hobbies, Nothing spent other then time and although it doesn't "look" better it does "work" better and it can always be changed back when they change the way they're playing.
Sainsbugs sent us 6 weeks worth of discount vouchers, we usually shop at tesc0 and lidl but these vouchers are 3 weeks of £6 off a £40 and 3 £8 off a £40. So I decided to buy some basic's from them last week, but they also had a mouse for ds1 and a game ds2 had been saving for on offer, got them to work out the % discount we were getting and then got them to work out the price for their purchases minus that discount - bit of maths practice which they enjoyed doing as it meant they were paying less! so spent £40.11 and got the £6 off
I was able to use the second coupon today and ds1 had decided to get a headset for his gaming as the cheap one he'd had off amzon had broken after a few uses so he'd been refunded during the week, he'd seen one he'd like when he was in sainsburys last week but didn't buy it as he'd not yet had the refund, so he bought that today again working out how much it was actually going to cost him after the discount. I also got some ys fruit and veg, along with more basics beans/pasata/bread. We also saw a charging dock that we have on our amzn wish list for the xbox and have decided to buy that next week using the third coupon. Pleased to have been able to get the bits and bobs we want with a bit of a discount.Tried on school trousers, both kids have grown so have ordered ds1 some from asda click and collect via a cashback link from dh's work. Got the next size of hand me downs out for ds2.
Opened regular saver now that my current account has switched (waiting for the incentive to come through now)
Applied for same current account for dh again for the incentive. Will then leave the bank accounts the same for a while!
Placed an order with musc1efood and went through TCB
Hung washing on the line to hopefully dry - keeping an eye on the sky though as its forecast to rain!
Made packed lunch for dh tomorrow.
Took the kids to the local play (read expensive!) pool but it was paid for using clubcard vouchers I'd converted before tesc0 reduced them from 4x value to 3x value.
Its been a spendy few weeks but only two more weeks of school holidays and we've not got any costly days planned so it will be nice to get back on track.
Anyway I've waffled on long enough, its like I've never been away!Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Well we're still away, for now anyway, we may end up going home early as it's not been the break we were hoping/looking forward to. Not much to report but still keeping the faith
Couple of freebies from COS and Shopmium
Uploaded all receipts to COS, Shopmium and Shoppix
Dropped books at charity shop that I've finished
Will pop a face mask on later (brought from home) while I crack on with another book.
Have a great evening.

Sorry you aren't enjoying your holiday Ziggy
Hope things improve and you don't feel the need to return early!
Lovely to see you back 1 Lucky Lady. Sorry to hear about the creepy PM
We are going away for a few days from tomorrow in our camper van, so today has mostly been about preparing for that. I have also had the garden to water - I have to feed and water the front garden in the morning, but have done most of it. A neighbour will keep an eye and splash some water about if it gets hot and dry again, but it should be ok. My back is a bit better, but I am very stiff, and it is a relief to sit down after rushing about all day!
Managed to:
Went car booting this morning, bought one or two things to sell on, also an unopened pack of cake tin liners, which I have often looked at but rejected as too expensive - anyway, these were 50p, and having tried them out, they certainly make life easier for baking! Also got an unused reusable non-plastic drinking bottle and a new parsley plant to fill a gap
Made a bean chilli and some flatbreads to take with us
Froze the flatbreads that we won't need to take
Made toad in the hole for dinner, to the delight of OH and my brother, who often comes round for Sunday dinner :rotfl:
Made Nigel Slater's chocolate muscovado cake to take with us, using up all those black bananas I have been freezing - put one of those cake tin liners to good use :T
Washing up from hell after all that lot, plus a dishwasher load
Picked and froze raspberries and French beans
Froze some blackberries that OH picked yesterday
Watered all the back garden pots - must feed those that need it tomorrow!
Started to get together the stuff we need to take. Much of it stays in the camper van, but there is always a surprising amount to put in
Tomorrow I will need to finish the packing, get all the food we are taking together (I am taking fridge leftovers, things I have made etc, so will need to buy little extra). We tend to eat the same sort of thing when we go away as we do at home, except for the lack of an oven! I also need to pack and post some ebay sales before we go
Early night first I think!0
