What small DFW things will you do w/c 13th August?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Washing on airer as looks like it'll rain whilst out
Made coffee for commute with morning brew
Look for our favourite coffee on offer. The price has gone up and it now appears to only be stocked in 3 supermarkets and none of them have it on offer  may see if I can set up an alert for it on my supermarket thingy
    Check banking
    Leftovers for tea
Chop up ys side of salmon I got yesterday and freeze
Freeze ys turkey mince I got yesterday too
    Write above items on inventory
Quick shower, let hair dry naturally
DH and I to use gym membership tonight
Print some stuff off at work and get it signed ready to send off
Feed tomatoes, still loads to go ripe and some of the leaves starting to look worse for wear

Must go and get in the shower and wake the small people up. Have a good day everyone, hope your bumps and bruises are on the mend :)

    Hi

Got a long week in work this week - not may meetings so stuck in the office

    Today

I have Ebay parcels to post - listed 34 items yesterday - yay will be watching them closely, its a desperate attempt to stay on budget until payday on the 20th at the moment I have enough for bills up to the 16th and £7 spare which isn't great
checked bank - that all looks ok, hoping for a payment in this week as I am owed money for a catering job
Wether is looking ok for drying clothes this week
I have a catering job on Wednesday and then...
Thursday is A level results, will be at school with my eldest
after that will be celebrating/consoling and trying to get her into her new preferred uni via clearing - as she has changed her mind about where she wants to go

    Hope you are all ok?

    Morning all :)
Thanks for starting us off Purple Fairy :)
Natlie good luck to your daughter - hope she gets the results she wants :)

My list for today looks like this:
Washed hair and left it to dry naturally (as if I would do anything else :rotfl:) Done
Print out business stuff while OH is out with the dog - sounds daft but the idiot (dog, not OH :rotfl:) barks frantically at the printer when it is being used, for some reason  Will use paper that has already been printed on one side to save money / paper :)Done, and the printer didn't play up for once!
Did some business paperwork and filed invoices etc

Check banks and update spreadsheet Done
Cancel milk for next week as we are going away for a few days before DD goes back to work after maternity leave and we get to do lots [STRIKE] of [/STRIKE] more babysitting  Done
Ebay items to post Done. Also posted a FB sale that (unusually) I agreed to post.
Listed another too big Monsoon garment on ebay, a dress this time.

Check out sales unit while out and about Done, nothing sold over the last few days :(

Found a very cheery and brand new set of kitchen cannisters in the CS, for tea, coffee, sugar. Cost £3. Not necessary, but a cheap treat. My tasteful (boring) brown ones can be washed and go back to the CS - someone will like them, I'm sure.

Make sauce with the roasted tomatoes I took out of the freezer Done
Make some soup with frozen lettuce and chicken stock - sounds unprepossessing but I have a new recipe to try :)Not done, as I didn't have all the ingredients. Boiled stock for 10 mins to concentrate it down a bit, and refroze
Updated freezer inventory, printed out a copy and attached to the indoor freezer with fridge magnets for easy reference :)

Freeze some of the hummus I made yesterday Not done, will do for lunches for the next couple of days
Leftover beef casserole for dinner :)Done
Pick produce that is ready in the garden, in between rain showers by the looks of it! Small bowls of raspberries and blueberries and 2 courgettes which we had with dinner :)
Some cleaning - probably the stairs, as they have got missed in recent blitzes! Still to do, as the vaccuum cleaner had a flat battery. Should be charged by now, hopefully, so will do this evening :)

Found a home for a spare geranium in the front garden :)

Watered a couple of the big pots which looked dry despite yesterday's rain
Picked the chillis off the chilli plants as some were shrivelling up before I could use them. Now in freezer. I put the plants outside to see if the change of scenery (from the conservatory) might tempt them to produce more :)

Cleaned the table in the conservatory, which for once isn't covered in plants :T

Paid the window cleaner - not very moneysaving, but had to be done!

If I manage all that I will be happy!

I'm not sure what coffee you like, but OH and I have the Asda's own no4 Italian style ground coffee for our machine and it's really quite nice and only £1.34 a bag

DNM, workers in most jobs have the right to one uninterrupted 20 minute rest break during their working day, if they work more than 6 hours a day. That's the law. This I know because I work in the employment agency field. (Link)

Thanks ally. I know that! And that's what I said to him which has caused the problem. I got back after being out - driving around the county conveying a patient to a hospital. It was hot, I needed a drink, to use the toilet and I was shaking with hunger. He wanted me to do some tasks and I said of course I just need to eat something first. He the 3 times asked me to work while I was eating. The 2nd time I said can you give me 10 minutes to eat and then I will. The 3rd time I said "I think by law I'm entitled to break by now" and that's where the trouble has begun....

this was at 3pm after starting work at 8!

Anyway I've decided to stop worrying about it. If I end up losing my job I'll have to get another. I'd rather not as the working pattern suits me at the moment. But there you go.... I can't change it by worrying about it!

    * Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.

In answer to the question....I have an electric alarm clock with and automatic radio controlled time reset. The bedroom isn't used during the day so I turned off the alarm clock during the day. When I turn it back on at dusk it resets the time itself. That way I don't pay electricity to run the clock during the day.

    Righty-ho, proper post

Good morning folks. I hope all the injured and poorlies are feeling better.

Feeling a bit better today. Still tired but not rough like yesterday. I have been taking plenty of vitamins and trying to get some veggies in me.

OH very sweetly had done a load of batch cooking yesterday so we are sorted for the week. I also finished one of my pair of socks last night

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Nip to post office at lunch time, couple of errands - done
    • Crochet
    Have a good one all

    Hi August-Austerees,

Afternoon!:coffee: Gonna write my list as I think of stuff.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    THINGS I WILL DO:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Take medication. Done.

    * Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.

    * Get some exercise. Done. Walked to local pool, swam 300m, sauna, steam, "free" shower, walked home. Picked up some leaflets with which to stuff my wet boots. £3.

    * DW is back from the dentist unable to chew. Make soup for lunch to her exact specifications. She won't eat it blended smooth, but can't eat pieces that are too big. Gonna need a smurfing ruler... :rotfl: Done.

    * Handwash swimming costume as not enough clothes for a load. Done.

    * Do a top-up grocery shop. DW pronounced that we had "no money left" in the grocery budget: closer inspection revealed £20+, a £1.50 Tesco voucher and £3.76 on a use-once-then-bin Visa card. This was plenty. DW wrote down £4 of ice-cream on the shopping list. I spent £1 on a Vienetta. :p Shopped locally on foot towing the 'Ferrari' behind me.

    * Clean flat with Stardrops and washable cloths. Done.

Things don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.
