I appreciate my thread is neither a Praise,Vent or Warning but I didn't know where else to go so please re-direct me as necessary :)

Re the tons of messages on the Boards which date back to the early 2000s - is it not possible for them to be deleted as surely their significance is zero 15/16 years later?

No...umpteen laws go back hundreds of years and are still relevant today.

Are they causing you a problem? I tend not to look beyond the first page of any of the boards that I use so I only see threads that are currently active (although occasionally somebody has woken up one from a few years ago, which may be a bit annoying but is hardly a life or death issue).

    It is click bait.

If you google a problem then if this problem was posted on MSE in the last 20 years it will appear in the google search results and could drive traffic to the site.

The fact the advice may no longer be legally accurate is not really important
  • The older posts are the best! :) there was much less aggression in the early 00's in my honest opinion. I quite often like to go to first page of the Employment board and read from 2004.
  • Hi confused,moi?

We have a lot of content that is still relevant today e.g., recipes on the Old Style Forum board so we rarely delete forum content.

Are they? What is that number of months? Because I have seen threads reactivated more than a year after the previous activity.
